I want to first say that I did a search.. Dont flame me for not doing one..

Im buying a 88 lx-i with a blown transmission..

Is there a swap guide on here for just transmissions? I dont want to look through 30 pages of threads to find there isnt..

Im trying to find a transmission to put in it and I just wanted to see what all fits since Im having trouble finding a stock replacement..

Thanks

Are you looking to just replace the transmission or are you talking about swapping a manual for an automatic or vice versa?

I am just trying to replace it with anything honestly.. Better gearing would be a bonus but I am just looking to find out what all fits so I can find something..

Is the car currently automatic or manual? Where are you located?

The Integra trans has to be built with a bellhousing from either an Accord or a third gen Prelude. The only bolt-in transmissions are the Prelude transmissions and the Accord transmissions. If it didn't come from the factory bolted to an A series, then it's not going to work without an adapter plate.

3rd gen prelude? Weren't those the B20A5s? The 86-89 integra internals will swap into the 3rd gen accord or 2nd gen prelude case. The integra transmission housing will actually bolt right up to the accord bellhousing as mentioned.

the carb accords have taller gears...they will save you more gas...the fuel injected accords have shorter gears...they waste more gas....i have the integera gears...all i can say is ...23mpg...haha

i would rebuild it while its out....inspect the internals, change out the syncros and replace the oil seals

yea rebuild would be great but the kits for it cost a arm and 2 legs...and the syncros is a separate kit...
