My A/C idle is not working properly anymore. The car used to compensate for the load of the A/C compressor by slightly raising the idle.
Now when I hit the A/C button in my car it drags down the motor to about 200 RPM. The car keeps running, but barely. When I turn off the A/C or the compressor clutch disengages, the motor goes back to its normal 800 RPM idle.
What’s going on here?
I have a DX 4-door 5-speed if it makes any difference.
