Interchangeable Lowering Springs

just wondering if any other cars (like a 92-95 civic) lowering springs would work for my 89 coupe.
civic and integra parts are just so much easier to find and cheap where i am, and it would be great if i could just use suspension parts from a civic

cause the stock struts will blow fats
also i had to add a 3" floor flange from home depot to make the rears sit right

What is your current suspension setup? There's really a lot of coilovers out there for our cars. EF Civic(88-91) also are direct fit. Ground control makes sleeve-type coilovers for the 3rd gen as well.

Also just found out that there is a company making full bodied coilovers for our Accords, they're called LowBoyz and nobody has them yet.

right now im just rollin on stock suspension with heated springs. no dead coils cut off. its ghetto, but it was cheap when i was 16, lol.
im just lookin for a cheap set of coilovers. doesnt have to be anything crazy good quality, yet, but i wanna get rid of the bounce, have adjustable ride height, and lower it some more.

sleeves (like the pic codyJDM posted) slide over the strut and allow adjustability. they replace your springs. you can use pretty much any strut you like as long as the springs arent too stiff.
a full coilover has a threaded strut body and is made specifically for adjustments. they are a one piece unit that replaces the whole strut/spring setup.

I dont see why not. Typically Honda coilovers are universal.

Im glad you're gonna go with a good brand, x2 on NO CHEAP SHIT! You will regret it down the line if you skimp out on quality.

im thinkin that regardless of whether they r springs or coilovers, if they r made for the civic, they will all fit the civic. and if one set of civic springs fits our cars, then shouldnt they all, regardless of who makes them and if they r just springs or full coilovers?

not full coilovers.. well not with mods atleast.. coilover sleeves yes.

TEIN does not make coilover sleeves. they have springs and full coilovers, and are far superior than any sleeve you can buy.

as far as springs fitting vs. coilovers, you are gonna have to make sure what the heights are. if the civic spring is taller than the accord spring, a civic lowering spring on an accord might not drop as much as you want, and if they are shorter you might get too much drop. and also, the accord is a heavier car than the civic. if the springs cant correctly support the weight of the car your ride will suck ass.

tiens are full bodied with strut so they wont mount

ive noticed that ksport makes a nice set but ive heard alot of bad things about ksport and d2 when it comes to reliabilty and durability thats the only reason im iffy on them

status report...got a set of Tein lowering springs from my buddy. they were on his 97 Civic hatch shocks. The springs fit on the Accord shocks, but the Civic shocks DO NOT fit in the Accord. They are too long/tall. Also, I had to make a "hat" for the rears, because the spring was about the same size as the hole at the top of the shock, so I noticed the spring kept going up into there over some big bumps, and ended up crooked. I made a custom "hat" to keep the spring straight.

Next up is a set of Tokico performance shocks. I found a new set for $260 shipped. Anyone know of any that are cheaper?

They're about that much on eBay, maybe a little cheaper. Unless you're talking about Illuminas.

you can modifier the civic struts to work.. i know a few members on here have done it.. 87roach is running skunk 2 ones for a civic i believe , and i "think" mushroom_toy has civic shocks as well

Yea, but don't do it. The rear's are fine but the front's are too long.
