Man, that looks great! I get so pumped when I see someone oldskoolin' our cars with style! His interior is very cleanly done.

Check it out - looks like he has a Weber carb kit with some kind of piping feeding cold air "around" it:
here (http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/gdguylb/vwp?.dir=/3rd+Gen+with+4th+Gen+Kit&.dnm=DSC00133.jpg&.src=ph&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/gdguylb/vwp%3f.dir=/3rd%2bGen%2bwith%2b4th%2bGen%2bKit%26.dnm=DSC00132 .jpg%26.src=ph)

thats a cool looking car!

how does that front bumper look in person... i am really trying to convince myself that i dont mind how the bumper rounds off under the corners of the 3g.

carotman
09-25-2002, 11:16 AM
Yeah, I still think that the front bumper is too round for the car.. the back is nice tough.

MoonScryer
09-25-2002, 02:34 PM
The bumper dosen't go under the lights. It comes near the corners where it rounds down the sides, but not actually under them.

It looks good in person. If I were going to do it, I'd choose that Demon Prelude front bumper; little squarer.

I'm going to send him the link to this post. Perhaps he will finally post :p

does he actually have a turbo?, or are those guages on the sidepost inside the car wired to something else?

Damn, that looks awesome. Even with it being round, the front end of it doesnt stick out really far like the others. I definitely like that....hmmmmmmmm...new idea :)

*messes pants* WOW. that is the cleanest 3rdgen so freakin far!! i think it looks damn good. needs white rims though, in my opinion. the front bumber i think doesn't look that bad at all. i think i actually might try that.

Very nice, one of the best looking 3Gs for me :D. Only thing I dislike is the tail: the wing and the taillights just don't appeal to me.

Oh yea, the only improvement I can think of is shaving the side mouldings.

I think I want that kit! It does look a little too rounded for the car but I'll be painting mine jet black to trick the eyes a bit.

09-26-2002, 08:59 AM
doesn't look half bad. I thought it might look funny, but I could get used to seeing that on my ride.......:)

guaynabo89
09-26-2002, 01:05 PM
I actually liked the way that kit looked. There is one thing he should have done though.

You see how the kit has a lip on the top of the front bumper to match the lines underneath the headlights and the grill of the fourth gen. Get a little work done to make that lip match the underneath of the headlights and grille of the third gen.

If he or anyone else who does this makes that little modification the kit will look like it was meant to be there and not like a kit from a fourth gen slapped on a 3rd gen Accord.

Other than that the car looked nice he put alot of work into it.

anhone else note the Corner lights? i think that looks DOPE! how he like Taped out the Yellow and it looks like A large dot and a small dot on the corner Lights.. thats awesome..how do u do that??!?!

markmdz89hatch
09-26-2002, 07:05 PM
very nice!! Props to you man if ur readin' this.
That's a clean car.

...and for all you other DX owners (that includes me), see how nice they can look with a little imagination.

Only -'s: The tails. And like others said, I'd try to get a body shop to try and match up that front to the bottom of the lights a little better. Other then that, that car is screaming for a set of my clear corner markers.;)

A20A1
09-26-2002, 08:11 PM
Thats tape? I bet he used a CD for a template, I did that and painted my tails black
Then I thought it looked funky so I just cut holes for the round lights.
anyways I love the racing seats and the smooth paint.

WOW that car is just amazing all i can say.......:omg: id ditch the carb and go with fi.... but that is about the only thing halfway wrong with that car... cause i know you can do some crazy things with webers.........

sup micah,

was there alot of modifications needed?
i have a 86 lx-i. i wanted to know if that kit you have would be easy to put on my car?
your car is amazing and i didn't want a old school kit on my car as well. if you could email me back i would really appreciate if you could help me. im from hawaii, alot of people tell that it is impossible but you car is a good role model. thanx

I'm like the #1 Fan of Ground Designs 2000. He has the GD2000 BW1 front lip, the rest of his kit sucks. I'm gonna buy the full B1W kit and do some modifications to the skirts and for blinkers on the bumper.

I actually met the owner of this accord at the NHRA Import Summit event this Sunday at Englishtown, NJ. The car looks Nice! Especially in person. I talked to the guy for awhile, mostly about the work he put into it and how the 3g is so overlooked in the Import community. I told him about the board so you should be hearing from him real soon.

:rice: Hey Guys
I'm registered now. If we meet on Nov 3rd at Englishtown and we get enough 3rd gen accords, there could be a possibility that we could get a class for us. I have been talking to the guy who runs the import events and he said that he plans on making some changes for next year. It would be really sweet if we had our own class. So everyone try to make it on Nov 3rd.
By the way, this past Saturday, Honda Tuning took pics of my car for their magazine. Look for me in the Feb/Mar edition of 2003

By the way how can I attach a pic of my car when I post

mrgadget
10-07-2002, 07:11 PM
:rice: For the person who asked about the Tenzo Seats, they are very comfortable. I drove the car all the way to NOPI and back.

For the guy who asked about the redline yellow section on the gauges, I took the guages out of the car and painted them myself. At the time there were no after-market gauges available.

For the people who don't like the car, the modifications, or the kit, let me see you try to attend all of the car shows to see what fits and what doesn't. You have to be willing to take chances and spend a little money to see what works.

Besides NOPI Nats gave me 2nd place in my class and Honda Tuning wants me in their magazine, so I must be doing something right. I'm only venting in this forum because ever since my pictures were posted by the guy (Vega88lxi) who took my pics in Atlanta, my car has been ragged on and it's my duty to defend my ride.

Hey that wasnt me, I was the guy at Englishtown that said I saw your car on the Internet.

Dont worry about the negtive comments. Theres allways people with diferent opinions as to what looks good. Me, as a person who isnt really into bodykits, I think the car looks good.

Hey did you tell the girl you where talking to with the 3g at the car show about the board?

2Fast_Fiero
10-08-2002, 08:41 AM
Welcome, first question from me.....Why in the hell did you go with a Black Widow 1 front bumper and a totaly different rear bumper and side skirts? Car looks nice, but its hard for me to see Ground Designs 2000 mixed with something else.

Mike89Accordcom

:rice: Hey Vega88lxi
I did tell that girl about the web site.
She is really hyped about her 3rd gen accord

MSIAccord_Lxi
The reason I went with a BW front is because I was looking for a wide mouth front. The back and the sides were given to me by my club member who had a 92 accord. The back was totally smashed and reconstructed it. I will have to post pictures of what the bumper looked like. I wanted to do some mixing and matching to see what I came up with. I guess something different

MR89AccordLxi.
Thanks for the compliments and comments.

In fact everyone who has commented on my car, I really appreciate the comments and critisism. The way I look at this is, we are all in this together and we 3rd gen guys and girls have to stick together. Remember no company wanted to do anything for us and we had to be creative. Doing extreme things can really get us on the map for import events. I will do what ever it takes to help someone else get to the next level. I love to see new ideas for 3rd gen accords. Who knows maybe I'll do suicide doors on the back doors.

I got the brackets from my Corbeau Seats and then I had to modify the brackets so the Tenzo seats would fit. It wasn't hard to do.

You can order brackets from http://sportscar-parts.com. I would order brackets for Corbeau Forza seats and then modify them.

Vega88lilx:
I plan on getting either 18" or 19" wheels to fill up the wheel wells. Also thanks for the link at Urban racer.

Well he said "attatch" so in order to post pics right off your hard drive need to donate money to the foundation...

and your example would be good for a link, but not an image...

how did you fit the kit

mrgadget
10-17-2002, 05:21 PM
There's a lot of work involved. They really don't make good side skirts for 3rd gen accords and the back bumper must be modified to fit to match the back wheel wel. The front bumper from a 90 to 92 accord should fit. You must watch out to make sure that kit does not curve too much. My entire kit was modfied to fit my car
