Okay, so lets see if I can explain this

I have an '87 LXi hatch, and am going to 88-89 front brakes, I have the spindles and bought all new balljoints and wheel bearings/hubs/rotors and pads the works.

I get the rotors and they are wrong, for a prelude. Now I found out the hubs I got are also wrong, and can't find a damn site in the world that knows the f*cking difference between an 88-89 lxi and an 86-87 lxi to get a pn on the 88-89 hub so I can send mine back and get the right one.

The internet sucks. 86-89 accord is so broad and nobody even realizes/cares.

The new hubs I got are smaller in diameter, and very slightly smaller in the middle where the rotor would sit. The spline is the exact same as well as the bearing. This hub WILL NOT work with my 88-89 brakes correct?

Can someone find a definitive PN on the 88-89 hub? Majestic honda doesnt even have it. :help: plz. I'm so tired of spending all this money only to receive the wrong parts.

All I need answered is:

Are all wheel bearings the same for each submodel and year? And can I reuse my old hubs(they are not damaged)?

Once again, hondapartsdeals.com saves the day. The 86/87 and 88/89 part numbers for the hubs and rotors are different, but the bearings are the same:

86-87 LXI
front hub: 44610-SE0-000
brake rotor: 45251-SE0-010
bearings: 44300-SE0-003 or 44300-SE0-018

88-89 LXI
front hub: 44600-SF0-000
brake rotor: 45251-SF0-000
bearings: 44300-SE0-003 or 44300-SE0-018

Thanks for the confirmation, I stayed up late cross-referencing part numbers last night and finally found the info I needed. I guess I will reuse my current hubs and sell the ones I got with my wheel bearings to a member.

The wheel bearings I got with the hubs are nice, can't wait to get this project finished.

ok so the hatch ones are different? I just realized the ones i rebuilt for mine were off the 89 lxi I parted out years ago. it was also a hatch. isn't it the 89 that can get the big brake conversion? I ordered the ball joints and bearings for an 86 everything fit just fine. my 86 brakes fit fine on the hubs also, which are also from the 89 lxi hatch. so if anyone needs anything measured, I still have my original wishbones and hubs out in the garage.

No, the small-brake(86-78 lxi 86-89 dx lex etc.) spindle and big-brake spindle(88-89 lxi, sei) hubs are different. The bearings and ball joints are the same though.
