Those are the bumper ends for the 82-83 Accords. They're supposed to look like faux wrap around bumpers, but when the bumpers "bump" they push back into those. You can kinda see how they work in this pic:

Also need to check the inside diameter of the fronts. I guess you could buy them directly and deal with the shipping that way. They only list the price as "B," but maybe cheaper?

The ad is long gone, but I picked up this '85 Accord off Craigslist for $150 in Sept. of last year. It was originally listed at $500, and over the course of a couple of months it was gradually reduced to $250. I called the guy up on a saturday morning and he said the junk man was coming to haul it off for scrap that afternoon, so if I wanted I better come right now. So I hauled ass up to Cleveland, GA. Talked to him for a while, turns out his father had bought the car brand new in 1985, and sold it to him in 2001 when he was in college. The car had 300,000 miles on it at that point. He put 86,000 more miles on it from 2001-2008.

Asked him what his bottom dollar was, he said $150. Tossed him 50 bucks to hold it over night, came back the next day with my brother and drove it home with title in hand.

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh299/MavDude/interior.jpg

(had to pull the cluster since most of the bulbs were burned out in it, couldn't see how much gas or how fast you were going at night)

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh299/MavDude/engine.jpg

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh299/MavDude/386k.jpg

Being a GA car since new, it had absolutely no rust, and the body was in great shape aside from a few small dings. Did some basic maintenance on it, put 2,000 miles on it driving it back and forth to work (the car paid for itself vs. driving my '72 Ford Maverick), then turned around and sold it to in December last year to my cousin who is in college and just needed cheap transportation for $300 (with the stipulation that if she has any problems with it, or decides to get rid of it, that I'm the first person she talks to about it). The car paid for itself in gas savings while I had it and I profited when I sold it. Can't beat it. My cousin is still driving the car, it is her only transportation. Probably getting close to 400,000 by now. Haven't talked to her in a month or two, need to call her and see how it's going. I actually kind of miss the car now that I think about it, and I only drove it for a three months... wasn't much to look at, but hey, it had character. LOL Can't wait to get my '88 Hatch on the road.

Well, the guy I bought it off of claimed that the engine had been replaced and only had like 180,000 on it, so if that was true I would say it should easily go to 500k. The car did have kind of a rough and surging idle, but it ran down highway great, 70-75 mph all day long smooth as can be and didn't burn any oil. A/C and cruise control even still worked. That cluster was just all kinds of fun. :ugh: I messed up the speedometer cable while trying to get it out, had to go to the Pull-A-Part and get another one. But after quite a few choice words and several hours of screwing around with it, I managed to get it all back together and the car had some nice bright dash lights again for the first time in who knows when.

1977 Honda Accord * Newer Engine * - $1000 (Burien)
Date: 2009-10-04, 5:01PM PDT
Reply to: see below

This 1977 Honda Accord has a 1980 "1800 cc" engine and is a nice little collector's car. It is gold and has new tires. It is a 5 speed . The body is totally straight and the paint still has a good luster. The interior is red and the seats are in fine shape, as is the rest of the interior. Has AM/FM/CD with removable face plate. This is a hatchback model with fold down rear seat.
This is a CVCC model (don't see many of those anymore) but this one is in very nice shape. I even have collector plates on it, so you don't ever have to buy tabs again.
Please call after 12 PM (noon) at 206-243-7324.

1983 Honda Accord - $750 (Centralia)

Reply to: [email protected] [Errors when replying to ads?]

I have a 1983 Honda Accord Hatchback. The car is in overall great condition. It is a five speed manual, mated to a 1.8 liter four cylinder. It is also carberated. its the original motor and tranny and the car has 220,003 miles on it and still runs good. I am the third owner and i bought it from a co-worker. We work at a local mechanics shop and have kept this vehicle in the best condition possible. We did replace the carberator because it had a runability issue, the new carb helped alot but it still every once and a while it sputters, it never dies, it just sputters, if you shift up or down it goes away. i have talked to many honda technicians and they cant tell me what it is, they said just shift up or down and live with it. I ended up getting a newer car thats fuel injected and dont need this one any more. i currently have four vehicles and of all four my 97 F-250 and this 1983 honda accord are the only ones that i never question wether they will start or if i can drive it any where. This vehicle has NEVER left me stranded, it still gets almost forty miles to the gallon as well. its a great cheap commuter. Call or text anytime. 1-360-623-4113. Thanks PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE.

Yeah, that guy didn't get any of the dash harness, any of the controller boxes, or pretty much anything that is needed for that dash to work. I was offered that dash before it went up on eBay, but unfortunately the guy won't go back and get any of the necessary parts. Sucks too because now it's useless. And pretty much anybody who is going to get access to the parts to make a digi dash work is going to have a full dash and harness and everything.

1982 Honda Prelude Convertible. Best offer.
Runs and rolls, needs work. If it were nice it would be expensive.
I don't have room for it, would like to see it go to someone who could appreciate it. Or someone who will make it pretty and sell it.

Ask questions, come take a look, more pictures online...
very rare! good body! starts, runs!
Very low price, best offer to anyone that wants it !!! I would rather you got it than have to give it to the junkyard...

1982 Prelude Honda Convertible

There was a fully restored example featured on Bring a Trailer a few months back....looked awesome and was listed for only $4,500.

BaT Exclusive: 1981 Honda Prelude Solaire (http://bringatrailer.com/2009/10/11/bat-exclusive-1981-honda-prelude-solare/)

Supposedly they were available new through Honda dealers with a factory warranty and everything....less than 100 believed to have been built

Looks damn good with the top down!

I just found this 85 for $1000. I'm shocked it seems in pretty good condition too besides the not working reverse. Wish I had the cash to buy this and a 3g.

http://albany.craigslist.org/cto/1492243038.html

Wish I had seen this when you originally posted it....I was up in Albany visiting my brother at college on 12/13. Price was a little steep (for a bad tranny) but I would have sucked it up and driven back home in a nice, low mileage SEi instead of a Malibu rental car.

Yeah that SE is allright. The door panels would we worth salvaging for someone who might need them. And the Bose stereo looks like it might still be in there. I wouldn't mind snagging those. And I would take those wheels and restore them, other than that, not too much useful on that car.

Lol, its for nothing really at the price... just shy of a $1000, but they're worth little in the UK atm. I should really keep it & use it as my daily, but I do around 12000 miles/yr & wouldn't want to ruin it.

2ndGenGuy
06-16-2011, 02:09 PM
I know, it's a steal at that price... They're not worth anything here either, but it doesn't make me want your car any less. I feel maybe you should daily drive it. Think of what would happen if you sell it to the wrong person, who gives it to their 16 year old and then wrecks it...

denhonda
06-21-2011, 03:03 PM
I've thought about keeping it as my daily, but I need an estate & I drive too unsympathetically(except when in this car & the Merc) and I'd just kill it in no time. My main car is an Audi & it's a good solid bit of engineering that can handle the mileage I do & also the roads in the UK that are in a poor state of repair. I just hope this car does find the right buyer

Well my car went off with its new owner on Friday, a retired gent who travelled up about 500 miles with his wife in their fairly new Honda Legend, to take the car back down to the south of England (where I bought it from!). He used to have them back in the '80's when they were new & always fancied another to treat as a classic so I think its fair to say its found a good enough home :)

He & his son have been looking for a suitable car for the last 2 years, so I'm pretty chuffed that mine was considered a suitable candidate.

I had a lot of interest in the car, so much so that another guy offered me more money if he could have got the car, but the sale was already agreed... I do have another one that he's interested in, but after giving it a once over & a few pics later, I don't know if I can let it go... :eek5:

08-06-2011, 03:29 AM
Here's the pics of my other one that I may or may not sell... this one I've had sitting for 8 years so I should get my finger out & decide what to do! Sad thing is I've not really got the room to keep both the '82 & the '84 :(

Body has rust here & there, and has been crashed at the front... all front panels bolted up in place are off my old rusted out Honda. I've got a new front panel cut off another car ready to go on to square it up.
