just the muffler

well i decided after long hard thoughts that ill just get a muffler. ill see how that turns out. and if later ill upgrade to larger piping and all that other good stuff.

I am all about the dynomax super turbo kill the pacesetter one I had before. Look at the setup I have it is a brospeed 3 inch tip.

I would recommend a magnaflow street or race series

if you want the traditional rice burner sound go with an APC stainless muffler and if u want a racey sound, go with somthin like the dynomax or any thing else that is for a race car.( not OE) it will sound real mellow sound if you go with a big, 5 inch, stainless tip. if you want a poping crakly sound, get somthin to reduce it as far as u can.

I like your Corolla, or as they might say in Japan, "Cororra." What year is it? My parents had a 75 that I did quite a bit of fixup work on when I was in college. They bought it new in 75 for $2,800 with A/C! It was indestructible. When we had problems with the original carb we put a weber conversion on it and it sounded pretty good.

does the size of the tip make a difference, sound wise? low sound = bigger tip?

I say go with flowmaster, they have the 40, 50 and 60 series for our cars. I have the 50 series with delta flow, and it gives the car a nice tone under acceleration.

If you plan on upgrading to bigger piping, make sure to get the 2.25" inlet and get an adapter made to fit the stock piping. that way, when you decide to go with bigger piping, you don't need to buy a new muffler.

Our 75 had a 2TC also. A good friend of mine had an 80 Corolla as his first car. It had the 3TC. I was folloeing him one night in ours and both topped out at 110, although his got there a little faster. The sound was pretty loud, though as this was not a refined car at all. We had the vinyl floors, cheap seats, and the A/C that the U.S. dealers used to add on. It only blew cold air out of the center vents and the compressor would shut off at stop lights.

Not a bad car. Not as good as the 3g Accord, but pretty comparable to the cars Honda was putting out in the 70's.

that muffler gives u that turbo sound out of your exhaust...if uve ever heard of a straight pipe turbo car...when the car comes down to idle...u can hear the turbo still whistling as it spools down....that ricey fucking muffler will give u that sound for ur non turbo car...:rice:
