Ok My 1988 Accord LXI Clutch Has Been Acting Up, The Clutch Is A Stage 2 Racing And Has Only At Most 4 To 5 Thousand Miles On It, But Lately It Has Been A Pain In The Ass To Get Her Into Gear. So I Thought, Ok Just Adjust The Clutch Cable, It Work For A Day Or Two, So I Adjusted It Again. And Some Thing Happen Again. Now The Nut For The Clutch Cable is All The Way Down At The Bottom Almost Off The Threads And It Still Is A Bitch To Get Into Gear. So I Had To Park Her Until I Can Find The Problem And Fix Her Cause I Don’t Want To Blow A Tranny, And It Is Killing Me Not Driving Her. So Please Help. Thanks

The clutch cable should be adjusted so the the release arm has about 1/4" of free play.

Have you been adjusting the cable to maintain the spec or based on some guess of how it should be set? How does the cable itself look--at least the ends that you can see? Clutch cable failures are rare, but a cable that is stretching (likely coming apart) may cause the problem that you're describing.

If it's not currently set correctly readjust the cable as described and let us know what you find. Having someone else depress the clutch pedal several times while you watch the release arm may also help to identify the problem.

I Have Been adjusting It To The Specs, But Now I Have No More Room To Adjust It, It Is All The Way At The Bottom. The Ends Still Looks Good, I Thought That It Was Stretching But Wasn't Sure. I Am Going To Get A New Clutch Cable And See If That Doesn't Help I Just Hate That The Threads Are Metal And The Nut Is Plastic, But Thanks For The Input Mike

I would also worry about a broken or loose release fork bolt. Remove the cable and check for play by pulling up on the arm.

Ok I Pulled Up On The Arm and It Moves Alittle But Not Much At All Could That Still Be The Problem

I was going to say the same. If your fuild is not full your going to have hard harsh shifts. And go with Honda MTF. other shit foams up and does the same

Yeah mine didn't swing free even though the bolt for the fork was broken.
Unfortunately there isn't anyway to know for sure without pulling the trans. I would exhaust all possibilities before doing that.

Hey Guys I Got My New Clutch Cable, And It Is A Lot Better Then The Original One. I Also Made Some Modification To It Also Here Are Some Picture To Explain.
Here Is The New Clutch Cable

The Old One Did Not Have This Rubber Piece To Keep Water And Dirt Out Of The Inside

The Other Was Plastic And If You Look Close You Can See A Bearing Were It Connects To The Peddle

And This Is The Modification I Did, The Original Nut Had Some Of The Threads Stripped And Was Also Jumping A little So I Cut The Two Bolts To Fit Around The Cable And They A Going To Act As A Stop For The New One
