Hello. I purchased my Accord about a month ago. I have been very happy. Unfortunately it has always had a little problem that i just notice how serious it is. There was always this little steam that was under the hood. I could never find the source of the steam until now. Ok so what seems is that there is water leaking out of something and hitting the rear part of the engine. The amount of water that it leeks is not that much but it seems to get worst the warmer the engine gets. Im looking through the manuals to see what could be leaking. But my god these engines look complicated. Ok So where it is leaking from is in the back upper/mid part of the engine. It looks like the leakage is external. Hopefully the pictures can help you guys. I was scared of a blown Head gasket but i checked the engine and radiator for any milky weird substances and all looks good. Oil is clean.
In one of the pictures you can see exactly where it is coming out from except it really comes out more like a stream and not as drops. Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance. So what do you guys think is wrong?

I had this problem when I was doing my rebuild and installing new hoses. I had replaced most of the clamps but I came up short and had to reuse and old one. Now, this old one did not have the tension it once used to and once the coolant warmed up and built some pressure it would start to leak from a hose(actually one of those ones you have pointed out). I replaced it with a new one, tightened it up and it was fixed.

From the pictures it seems like someone already did this. You could check to see how tight the clamps are around that area and check it they may need replacing. Hope this helps.

If the hose is leaking, replace it. If it's the metal line, remove it and the two hoses on either side, run a single piece of hose from the valve cover to the intake, and a single piece of hose from the barb on the intake manifold to the one under the throttle body (I believe).

Only one way to find a leak like that: poke yo big head under the car and find it.

why not pick up a haynes manual and fix it? if you go to a mechanic with a car this old, chances are you are going to get ripped off,and they are going to have no idea what they are doing. http://www.sandscorpion.net/mechanic.gif

^^^Maybe you are right but I have no time or the tools. I looked at the manual but it looks so complicated. so yeah im just hoping it is not that much to fix it. By the way it looks like its going to need need throttle body taken off? and then see what is exactly leaking.

Ok. So the leak was fixed. It seems like it. The mechanic fixed it for 150 and changed a couple of other parts that were rusty. He fixed some kind of gasket that caused the water leakage. He had to take the top part of the engine apart. I though it was a good deal.

The gasket he probably fixed was the IVAC gasket and swapped the hose as well. That what the pictures point to.

But he should have told you what it was that he changed.

I'm not liking the rust though. I'd say be ready for more leaks.
