I was wondering since the 2g prelude had the a18 would the transmission work in the 3gee? I heard the gear ratios were shorter. just wondering if it would be worth doing.

Not unless your gearbox is broken or beyond repair.
Best gearbox to use is the 1st gen Integra or 2nd gen D16ZC CRX requires a bit of work as you have to swap bell housings and also recommended that you keep the 5th gear on the Accord box into the teggy one as it's better for motorway driving 5th gear on the teg is tiring you do 3500rpm at 70mph. Another option is the B18 box but i think they are import only so will be hard to find!! Also most 2nd gen prelude boxes are slightly different and don't last as well certainly the ones on the earlier carbed 2nd gen ludes. Later SI i believe is same design as the Accord ones on the A20 engines.

if you really want cheap gearing...you should get the final drive off the 86-89 integera and install it into your trans.....the carb final drive is 3.886, fuel injected is 4.066 and the integera is 4.2
