If its an LX, its not fuel injected.

And try searching...this has been covered 69494 times...but to get started, if the car is fuel injected, intake and exhaust wouldnt be a bad place to start...

Make sure the car is in tip top running shape before any performance mods though...

Start all performance tests at the top of a very steep hill. All braking tests at the bottom of the hill, pointing up.

sound advice

the car should be serviced because those are not so slow as to be saying it is really slow what can I do... start with getting it in good condition.

no, i think these cars are just pretty slow. its actually an lxi. it weighs like 2500lbs and it has 100hp, i think that makes it slow. my buddy had one that was gutted, with a delta 272 cam, header, exhaust, intake, ported intake, more timing and it still ran high 15's. most new cars today run 14's stock. i need to make it fast.

slow and quick are 2 different things. a car that runs a 10 second quarter mile but only does 120MPH is not as fast as a car that does a 15 second quarter mile but does 150MPH. which are you looking to do, fast or quick?

how many cars that runs 15's have u seen trap 150mph? these cars are slow and slow. his trap speed was 87mph, which is also slow.

im not talking trap speed, im talking TOP speed. do you want an overall FAST car or an overall QUICK car. a car that does 100MPH tops can still do the quarter in less time (if set up right) than a car that does 150MPH. you said fast, fast is overall speed. quick is distance measured, point A to point B. which are you looking for?

either kind. with very low power like these, being quick and having a high top speed is hard. because to run a quick et, you need power, and to have a high speed, u need power. and giving the car 20 more hp aint gonna cut it.

I have an idea for you. Use the damned search button. There's a how-to and faq section devoted to this question right here. I swear this has to have been asked at least 10 times in the last month.
