South east Queensland, Gold coast. i got my 1988 A20a4/automatic Honda Accord 9 years ago it was my first car, don't think i'll ever get rid of it, i love it too much, 235,000km of the clock, got it for $3000aus the guy wanted $4000aus, i drive it gently 99% of the time it's full serviced once a year and i change oil myself twice a year. i've had it up to 165kmh no problems at all stability wise, maybe 5kmh more but i love this car, i didn't want to hurt it.

Everything still works on it 'cept cruise control, clean inside too no cracks or missing parts, on the outside, a thin but deep scratch on the boot facing back, missing a black plastic piece just above the rear left wheel well, a 15cm by 10cm dent not very deep under the black plastic near back right rear wheel well and 1 or 2 very small ones, the front lip is the worst 20% paint chipped and 1cm wide gash on the bottom middle of lip, and the tint was bubbling so its been all removed 'cept the back window (cause the guy was scared he would wreck the defogger lines), i can see out of it though, haven't been done for it yet.

Oh and if its been raining heavy.. the elec-sunroof dumps lots water on me when on hills  , and the antenna doesn't move just go's click click click, and the bonnet is 5mm to high above the right flip light, not sure if its the bonnet or the light may have dropped... i think the light ???? (some idiot sat on the it i bet...)

So its all standard ('cept 15" mags of coarse).

There is some awesome 88's here, i like how ppl use the integra lip, if was to do anything special maybe that, i don't know much about fixing up cars though but was thinking new suspension and maybe air intake like short ram or CAI (is that right?, i got no idea) but only if it easy and inexpensive over comfit, performance and being worth it, as i would take it somewhere to be installed.

Don't worry 3gee lovers i'll fix those minor exterior problems.

I just walked out and took the pic, i'll take some nice ones somewhere cool once i wash and wax.

welcome aboard
nice 3g
yoou'll find all you need to know and a bit more here
we're all 3g nuters,some more than others
cai is prob better in the banana state tan a short ram
want to keep all the heat you can outta the intake air, so teh further from the motor the better.
the air cleaner behind the headlight or even better behind the bumper is prob the best bet.
as for the sunroof leak
check to see if the drains are clear .
just open the sunroof and pour some water round the rain channels under the sunroof and look for it coming out under the car
cant remember if there are three or four drains but they are there.
the coast is a cool place
have family in surfers and brisbane
enjoy yourself here

More pic's very soon inside and out, by the weekend at least. i'm kind of new to internet communities, more free time as i get older i guess, you guys don't know how much i love this car ...

ok maybe scratch that now i've had a good look around.

i don't know much about fixing up cars myself, i would end up shopping around town for quotes, i'd like to lower it abit, use new suspension, new brakes, help her breath, re-colour the valve cover as the black stuff is chipping away (how i found this site, searching on how i could do that) and new tint, i understand it's a older car, so i would be looking for the cheapest new parts.

Will i be laughed at for bringing in a 20 year old car into a suspension specialist asking for a new setup?

after taking pic's and vid i had a good look, i'm missing driving side door light too, Hondarec here i come. i have found lots good info and the search thingy helped, but i do have some questions, great site i'll be lurking around for some time to come. hope ppl enjoy pics and vid, for now till i do something major, bye guys.

1. paint type for valve cover and back window trimmings

2. i've never taken a valve cover off before, a explanation from un-bolting to resealing with new gasket, will i stuff it up?

3. can i just bolt on a CAI to my "stock" A20a4? no other changes to say the fuel management system and/or the block itself?

4. the rust ... i should sand it down asap? i'm not going to have money to respray the whole car for a long while, if so what could i use to protect the area after sanding away the rust?

after some heavy research, i'm got the rust, valve cover and paint sorted.

But the intake still scares me abit. i don't think i should do the intake myself ...

i've got 2 ends at the front of the intake one goes down into the wheel well and another that splits off near the battery and ends next to the radiator fan (just a open pipe), i can't see the "wheel well" one as its closed off by body work (must end right behind the left indicator), from there it goes to a box attached to the PGM-FI (filter i think) then another pipe under that on the plastic box does a U-turn into the Throttle body, the top part of U-turn piping on the throttle body has the valve cover hose. plus i think there is 1 or 2 other hose's attached to the plastic box(filter i think) on the PGM-FI.

compared to a CAI or ram i see on some pics here, which from what i can see just go TB---piping---valve cover hose(coming off piping)---more piping----filter

in my head i thought, pull front bumper off,

remove :- intake piping -filter(box on the PGM-FI) -U'turn pipe on throttle body and maybe the original looking metal valve hose.

to add new piping straight from throttle body to new air filter (into the wheel well where the original pipe ended, behind the left indicator) with new valve hose about midway(closer to the TB).

but it couldn't be that easy could it?...

hey tommy, i've seen your posts, you wanna know about Queensland? well i've never been to Melbourne, i hear it's a nice city though, the night life is pretty cool there i think, you should have tried making your way up too the gold coast, it's a bit more "tropical" up here, you may have heard the slogan "beautiful one day, perfect the next".

i think there is a larger Thai community in Mellbourne maybe, not so much Gold Coast but Brisbane i know has a large if not Thai but Asian community that's pretty nice, Brisbane's china town is beautiful.

you want help with your Signature i've read? you want a picture in there?

1. upload the picture you want on a file storage site (i use Fileden, or try Photobucket)

2. now your picture is uploaded to a website, now these sites will give a code and address too link too you picture, you need the one that is like: <IMG>

3. cut/paste your uploaded pictures <IMG> code, into your signature.

4. save and done.

i'll post in your newbie intro and comment on your car, it's pretty cool, i love the engine swap but i agree with most people here.... you need to remove that body kit:D the orange car you posted looks like it just has a small front lip, like from a integra, like want most guys here do. like what i want.
