^^ x2 I like it, but unless the vent is functional for cooling the brakes not exactly my thing.

belive me i kept alot of things in mind...but in order to have a functional vent i would have to cut a piece of the body out...and theres no way i was gonna do that:).

Ah I knew this was going to happen sometime. This is looking promising! As the others have stated I agree with the vent(although I personally like to keep things simple). I would rather just see it flow naturally into a flare sort of what you have on going with the front part.

Can't wait to see some more progress!

:edit:

I just checked out thegreatdane's thread with his side skirts there, and that is pretty much what I was talking about for the rear part of the flare.

Man that's badass! I bow to your mad fiberglass skills. Personally, I'd have a better chance of buying it without the vent (not that I have a 3gee to put it on anyways). Overall I really like it! But you'll probably find a half-and-half depending on people's tastes. If you were going to run your exhaust out that vent, that would be sweet too! Side pipes!!! :D

I dunno how hard mocking up is, but you could potentially make both and see which you like the most. I think you've got a pretty decent market for people buying that stuff from you. Maybe produce 2 different sets to sell more.

Looking good, I am not feeling the little fake-vent deal at all though. I think you should ditch that idea and leave it as a simple extension of the body line(just me though, they still look sick )

Nice work as always. Hell at the rate your going, you will have a full custom body kit by the end of the year. Yes I to have to say as well that im not real hip to the vent.

Once you're down with this you can make some good $$ by making kits for everyone.

i know i want one,but will have to work in my airplane wing tip lights sidemarkers somehow.

01-22-2009, 07:58 PM
now the vents could be used to hide some LED sidemarker, turn signal lights, totally hidden unless on. now thats where the plutonium vents after travelling through time correct? LOL j/k looks great.

i like it, mad props to you for doing what you're doing. I'm in the same boat with the other guys about the vent, but I have to admit, that at least you did design an angular style instead of some swoopy thing that doesn't fit with the lines of the car.

I'm personally not a big fan of skirts that go up to meet the moldings, but I do see your point about it being a better match with the flow of the front bumper. Once it all comes together, I think it'll look so friggin sweet.

thanks man. yeah i know everyone hates the vent..it was kind of a last minute desicion...so i went with it..i was trying to keep it the same as my old design but would look worst since it sticked out more from the body.

keep the front bumper and finish the sideskirts and sell it as a package only. Id hate to buy one and not get the other. On the other hand to pay more and get both sounds prety decent. just my say. if it happens let me know and ill sell my bodykits to make room for this one

have u considered making a fiberglass hatch for the hatchback. it would be lighter than the original hatch. i made 1 but still have not finished mine. the way your stuff looks you could make 1 alot better than what i tried to make. just a thought.

well it will be alot easier to break the part from the mold, it saves me some space in the garage, and hopefully it will last longer:)

if in a few someone wanted to buy the set of skirts and bumper but wanted them finalized in carbon fiber so it has the look would that be possible or why not? I just dont do that work and am curious. Id love to buy them as stated months ago but I dont want to mismatch carbon fiber parts if I cant or wont. Id like to get a hood, fenders and eyebrows then move to the interior pieces. Looks like your going to retire of us eventually. Good job and everything looks great even still.

its possible to make it all in carbon fiber but like i said before...i still have alot of experimenting to do with carbon before i tackle a big project like that.. carbon fiber is just too expensive to waist if your not possitive that its going to come out right the first time.
