On my 87 lxi accord with an automatic trans , here is the issue the car has a slight miss at idle (number 2 cylinder i believe) but if rev'ed up above 2500 rpm and higher goes away , however when running in gear (under a load) it sputters and graduailty runs better upon accel, i have replaced plugs, wire, cap and rotor . why do i think it's the number 2 cylinder because when running i can remove every plug wire 1 by 1 and i can notice a difference in the way it runs but when i pull that one it doesnt affect it at all , but you can hear it arcing ???? please point me in a direction i really don't wanna put this thing in the shop to find out whats going on with it but i will as a last resort ???:slap::nervous::dunno:

you know, i have the same problem with my '87 except i haven't replaced the wires, plugs, or any other part of the ignition system. but tomorrow i'm going to the local auto depot to replace those things in hopes of riding to the slight misfire faggotry going on at idle, and most other RPM speeds while it's in neutral. funny thing with my car though is it runs like a champ when in gear...:dunno:

it might not be going away at all at higher rpms, just less noticeable. test your compression and injectors/resistor is all i can think of right now....
check valve clearances?

the way i've always done it is get a can of Carb Cleaner, and spray around the vacuum lines until you hear the idle go up, and just keep doing it in that area until you see...plus there's always just inspecting the lines and looking for cracks or breaks, anything that air could get through
