Hey, how will an 89 lxi react if I put one of those straight thru cats on ebay such as : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-89-HONDA-ACCORD-ALL-MODELS-RACING-CAT-CONVERTER_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1171Q7c 66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a0Q7 c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhas hZitem270335677577QQitemZ270335677577QQptZMotorsQ5 fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Will I notice any power?
Is there an O2 sensor AFTER the cat? I would assume this would mess the car up if I removed the cat.

If I do this in combo with the pacesetter headers, and the High Flow cat back I already have (which is the only mod on the car)
Will I notice anything?

The car has a full tune up, has 129k miles, and runs like a champ, idles purrrrfect. It is in great running shape, and I consider the car spirited as it is.

Do I need to match this up with a better intake? the stock seems a little restrictive...

I would REALLY like to get a generic ram air scoop, with a filter, and hook the intake up to this, has any one done it? Any advice?
I want a true ram air on the car, whats the best way to do this?

I would follow these mods with nice NGK plugs and wires, What else?

The car is about to get all new moog springs and gr2 struts.

Thanks for the info!

If your cat isn't clogged, don't gut it. Things like this are what prompt government officials to push through items like "Clunkers for Cash" and other such programs. Keep your cat. If you must, replace it with a Magnaflow.

And it doesn't matter if your state is emissions exempt or not, removing emissions equipment is a federal offense. Just don't do it.

i ran that almost exact setup on my LX, Pacesetter headers, spoon sports resignator (test pipe) and the pacesetter exhaust... really it was an ok setup and i had the most problems with the pacesetter muffler rather then anything else.... there is no 02 sensor on the cat either o nthese cars..

and as far as a ram air.. just get a short ram or a cold air off ebay , remember you have to mod difrent ones to fit these cars

get a cold air intake for a 4g accord, cut like3 inches of pipe of the end and its fits like it was made for the car!
