Well! Meet someone at my parents party who owns an 87 LX Auto and he said I can have it.

Checked it out today. It tracks straight and the CV's are in perfect condition, so it looks like I'm back!

Sweet Welcome Back

My game plan:

What I think was damaged in the wreck was all the front end stuff that isn't the frame... Lol... So the first task is to make it drive down the road right.

I gave my Weber to my brother because his Samurai wouldn't run right, and I think the stock carb was better after I did the manual secondary to it. So I plan on doing some work on the intake manifold, maybe making the... it's been a while, and I knew what this was called.... Grinding out where the carb sits. Do some port matching if needed.

I wrecked it 3 days after I got my 4-2-1 exhaust on, so that's gonna stay. I stole the muffler for my Sidekick, so I might go with something like Apexi or something like that. I wish I knew the exhaust the guy who runs a hybrid b20/16 in his Civic has. It sounds bad as hell! You can't hear it when he is crusing, but as soon as he gets on it, it's the most wicked thing a 4 cylinder could sound like.

A buddy of mine has some Fat 5's I found for him for $60... He owes me $450, so might just tell him to give me the wheels and $400.

Remember the guy in the Civic? I want to keep up with him! haha... Maybe run in the 14.5's. I'm serious! Continue reading...

My rig has been at my brother's house over the winter, and I didn't know it leaked, so it's got some water in the floorboard, which made mold, which I despise with all my heart, so I am gonna crazy and GUT IT!!
YEP! I'm gonna take everything I can out of this thing except the seats (I'll take the rear out if I go to the track) and MOST of the dash.
I might even devise a way to gut the rear doors and keep them up all the time.

Stay tuned!

I lost the power cord to my camera, so I gotta wait till I get a new one to take pics.

The automatic accord I'm getting is a mess. They say it runs great, but it's an automatic, so I can't do anything with it. I'm gonna take the A1 out with the carb, plus the Headlight motors, and everything in the front that makes the tires go straight and since I'm not gonna get a title, I'll let the government take care of it after I dump it somewhere they don't ask questions, they just tow it.

And I'm being realistic! lol

The Green car has an 88 A3 engine with 108k miles, and I got that A3 exhaust manifold with 2" all the way back. If I put the stock carb back on with the manual secondary, it might be around 125-130hp.

I'm gonna try to get this thing down on the weight as much as legally possible... Maybe 2100lbs is something to shoot for? I think 14.5 seconds is a good number for a stock block.

you're gonna need a dirt devil vacuum cleaner to suck that power from the tailpipe

just messing with ya

seriousley I dont think that is possible, the vacuum cleaner thing...

get back to the custom intakes for other carbs again and P&P the head. Or get you a set of B series mounts if you wanna stfu that civic an I mean that in the freindliest way possible

I give a lot of respect to the guy who owns the Civic. He is going for a JDM look, and he has built a lot of 12 second Civic's in the past. He used to rebuild Rotory engines for the Mazda race team about 15 years ago.

Hey, look!! I finally got it home!!
Cost me $75, but I think it was worth it... I might get the other one towed here for a couple bucks more. That's cheaper than all the front end stuff I need, plus I get a new manifold and carb. That weber wasn't as good as the stock carb with the manual secondaries.

Here are the pics you guys were waiting for. Consider this a before shoot.

LOOK!! Nothing was damaged!! I still want to replace both bumpers with 88-89's.

Gonna have it painted when I'm all done with it.

And don't worry about the cinder blocks. I'm gonna be stacking tires under the whole thing so I can work on it while I use my jackstands for the things in my garage. I don't trust those jackstands on dirt.

Bass Man

I might even lower it an inch or 2 to make it look better with the wheels.

I'm hoping to gut the rear doors and fasten my windows up, then plating the doors with some sheet metal. I'm also thinking about pulling the rear seats and replacing them with removable sheet metal or aluminum. I don't want the weight, but I think I'll keep the general shape incase I get people wanting a ride somewhere.

Just take the rear seat out and leave the carpet fold. It works fine for seating...people will complain but screw them lol.

It's not a fold-down. :( I also have a rotted-out trunk, so I'm gonna cut it flush and weld something in.

I started pulling everything off about 6:45 tonight and I was done and ready for the other accord at around 7:30.

I got pics for some reason.

Bass Man

Here are the pics for today.

The front wheels after being drug 100 yards. The right tire was ground down almost to the insides.
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/7813/dsc00294j.jpg

All the parts I pulled. Each side must weigh 60lbs!! That's insane!
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/7663/dsc00295hdh.jpg

Fender is a little beat up. Steering linkage looks fine, but the joint spins, so I'm gonna replace it. The A-arm bracket looks perfect!
http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/5231/dsc00296g.jpg

The only "Damage" to this side was the soft brake line spinning inside the bracket...
http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/968/dsc00297e.jpg

You can see here, nothing is even scratched.
http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/5362/dsc00298g.jpg

And now I got this to work on... I didn't like the Weber on this thing. I think the Keihin did better after I made it manual.

I pulled money for it last night, now I just gotta get the tow truck on board.

Bass Man

Got it home in one peice... There was only 1 lug nut on all 4 tires, so I was a little nervous about the wheels getting messed up, but we made it home with no issues! It even has an exhaust, so there is something else I don't need to buy.

It looks better than mine, but it's an Automatic, no title (obtainable, though), and a couple dents. Plus mine came from my brother's wife, who's had it for 3 years before me, so I KNOW what's been done.

w00t and that muffler looks like an apexi knock off or something

Bass Man
06-16-2009, 10:17 PM
I'll have to cut it off at the muffler, cuz it looks like 1 5/8" pipe, where I have 2" pipe on mine and I want it all. If it sounds like an Apexi, I would have a pretty big smile on my face. Not a lot can compete with the sound of that flowmaster with that big ol' tip on it. Sounded MEAN!

I didn't get ANYTHING done on it tonight... Instead, I installed a stereo and some 6 1/2's in a 94 Yota pickup... I like how it's pretty damn hard for theives to take a stereo real easy, but I hate how long it takes. That's when you need a portable screw gun.

Tomorrow I gotta make a sealed box for a 96 F-150 single-cab with only a (takes)skil-saw. :ugh:

If I get that all done tomorrow, I'll have my accord back on the ground Friday, and it will probably run Saturday night. I also want to change all my windows out, cuz that's cheaper than getting it tinted, or I may have my Mesican buddies tint the whole car for $100 or so, cuz I'd only change out the door windows, and I think it would be pretty hard to match tint.

The wheels are cool and I'll run them for a while, but they require a special lug nut, and those are gonna add up QUICK!

Thanks, guys.

Speaking of rims... I cut up a 12pt 16mm socket to fit the lug nuts. Worked awesome! Now I just need 12 more lug nuts... That's all I got done last night, cause the box and the install is taking longer than it should... Supposed to have been a good amp... wrong!

After I bleed the brakes and get some tires, I can put it back on the ground! I still got an intake issue, though...

Making a list:
Tires (I have 2 that will work and a tire machine, and my dad is gonna buy the last 2 because he took my brand new Kenwood HU.... Shouldn't be more than $150 walk-out)
Bleed brakes.
Fill Transmission.
Put the coil back in.
Figure something out on my intake manifold (I got a stock manifold and carb that I want to put on. I messed up my old manny to put the Weber on.)
Rewire my cooling fan.
New codder pins for my joints.....
New gauges, just the usuals. ($40 on sale I hope)
New Stereo. Think I'm going with another Kenwood MP442U ($150) and if I have time, I'll put all my loud stuff in. ($45 for wires and $40 to build a box.)

I think that's all I need to get rolling.

I mocked the Fat-5 up and it looks goooood. Can't wait to get it on the ground!
My issue was I forgot to put one back on and the nut backed off... If I didn't decide I was gonna get rid of my 3g a month after I wrecked it, I would have been done by now, but now I got a lot of stuff to replace that I took out for other rigs... Battery! That's something I forgot to add to the list.

I scored BIG on tires today! 195/50R 15's. 2 Pirelli p700's, 60%, and 2 Federal SS's at 60%. All for a total of $55. $40 for tires and $15 for gas!! Hehe... Gonna go to the shop and mount them tomorrow; I should start polishing my 5's, huh?

WOW low pro's are a PITA!... Takes me 15 minutes to put a set of tires on wheels that have bad tires on them, not with these tires... I don't remember what I gave for the wheels, but my buddy wanted them for his 96 Civic when I saw them on craigslist for $40! He had them for a while but couldn't afford tires for them, so I told him I would take the wheels for something... Maybe it was wiring his Samurai for the 4.3 v6.

I paid $40 for the tires, too. Not bad, eh?

Bass Man
08-15-2009, 08:02 PM
Well, I took some time getting ready for the Weber.

I made a delete plate for the EGR valve, cleaned all the gasket material off the whole manifold, then I "port-matched" the weber to the manifold; something I didn't do to the other one, also.

I'm gonna be running the weber right on top of the manifold. Nothing but gasket between. I don't think it will get hot enough to vapor-lock, but if something were to happen, I'll just make a spacer for it later.

Right now I'm gonna re-jet it so I have a good base to start from.

Bass Man
08-16-2009, 07:48 PM
Got it running tonight. I reallllllly need to get the right jets for the weber. Primary is kinda slow to respond and the secondaries just make the engine pop and studder. I checked inside and both the venturi's are feading lots of fuel, and the acc. pump is working fine. I think it's running way lean even with the amount of gas going through it. Exhaust doesn't smell rich and I really can't see any black exhaust.

Weber soft parts are soooooo damned expencive...

As if anyone was watching, I got a head unit and a 1/0awg wiring kit for my 3g today. Got a Clarion CZ309 for $140 and a cable kit for $60. If I ever go to a bigger setup, I'll be prepared. lol

I didn't notice your post, but I reallllly would like to lower the accord, but I'm afraid of all the allignment issues! I can't afford new struts, and I can't even afford Prelude upper arms for the front camber!

As soon as I get it registered, it will be ready for daily use. I upgraded my battery to body ground, put a breather filter on the valve cover, and changed the oil.

Shucks/Kragen/Checkers/O'reily's has a deal on Castrol oil. 5 quarts and a filter for $16, so I said hell yeah and changed it!

Before the change, my 1 year old oil was running at 40lbs @ 900rpm and would drop a little when warm, PLUS I could hear a rattle that sounded like a rod bearing going out (108k on the motor, so I figured it wasn't the bearings) and after I changed the oil, the idle psi was at 60lbs and I had no noise apart from an exhaust leak(I hate exhaust leaks!). I also replaced the missing lower dizzy bolt, so hopefully my only oil leak is gone.
