I dont know if anyone was aware of this, but KYB lists the same part number for 3rd gen Accords and 3rd Gen preludes, for the front only.

Ok so does bilstein.... tokico does not though. Anyone have any insight?

this is 86-89 Accords and 88-91 preludes. Front only, as i said.

Advanceautoparts.com says the Monroes are the same as well as the KYBs.
Bilstein lists some that fit the 88 Accord and 89 Prelude, but also lists other models for the Accord that don't fit the Prelude.

i noticed that as well cygnus. I'm finding a BUNCH of suspension shit that matches other cars that i think will help a great bit. Rear lower shock bushings are WIDELY compatible.

this means we have an option for rear shock bushings in poly. I know someone posted about the civic one fitting, but this is confirmation.

88-89 prelude front springs are the same as well. I think the difference in models available for accord/preludes is due to spring rate differences.

So the 90/91s are incompatible?

I wouldn't say that. They arent listed as compatible, but the geometry is the same. I would venture to say that they are compatible, but their spring rates are stiffer.

This is what I have been using for spring rate charts. From memory the Prelude rates were the same but please check. Other thing to look at is the size of the coil spring to make it work with our spring width or what every width you are going to use. I think its is 2.5" front and 3 " rears.

The stock Honda spring rates are Moog CC248 rates listed as 278 lbs/.in.

The rear Moog CC221 is 170 lbs/.in.

Those are the replacement variable rate springs.

The lowers fit, but the uppers are too small. They do fit in the front though.

Rear Prelude struts fit with an OE bushing (from another car)?

The lower shock bushing in the rear, that is listed for the 3g accord, does not actually fit on our cars. The ones that i found, listed for the civic/integra do fit.

Oldblue: The moog springs listed for the 3g accord are also listed for the 88-89 Preludes.

no, the rear prelude shocks dont fit with another bushing. What we are talking about is a bushing fitting from another car.
