Go with a Holley regulator and a decent gauge. Don't cheap out otherwise you'll never get it setup accurately.

I assure you they exist. I have one on my car. Go to summitracing.com I'm pretty sure that's where I picked mine up.

There it is. As for the gauge, I can't remember what I have. I think it might be a holley as well.

summit racing has them, thats what i have. if you can find a standard holley regulator, just buy the low pressure rebuild kit, it's the same regulator with a different spring and check ball in it. 3 psi is not unusual for a carb, it's volume you need with a carb, not pressure. the holley goes down to 1.5 psi i think. I know the SU's are supposed to run on 2. all the fuel pump on a carb does is keep the fuel bowl filled. the fuel is under no pressure going into the metering system of the carb itself,it's all vaccume. thats a Mr. Gasket gauge, it's actually made out of metal, avoid the spectre one at all costs, bought one once, and when i took it out of the package, the plastic case broke in my hand. It went straight back. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/lostforawhile/S4020003.jpg

Oh yeah one more thing. Don't buy a mr. gasket fuel pressure gauge. I work at Autozone, and they always come in fucked up. The gauges never reset to zero properly. I had one when I first did my Weber upgrade, and it literally exploded withing 5 minutes of being on the car.

Yeah the one I bought was total crap, and all the ones I've seen at work are always screwed up. Maybe the quality control just went down the tubes.

lol yes I do. I love that guy. Makes for some good conversations at work. After working at a parts store I am no longer surprised by most of the stupid stuff people do to their cars. You'd be surprised how many people don't know the difference between their low beams and high beams.

oh the gauge under my hood is for line pressure, the bell on the end of the regulator is for the norskog digital gauge, i have regulated fuel pressure right in front of me. these SU's don't like too high of a pressure,it can overcome the needle valve.

thanks, right now it's a matter of putting it on and taking it back off over and over. fixing clearance issues and plumbing and wiring. just been using two manifold nuts have had to take it off so many times.

Wait, you can port your intake manifold by pouring sand into the carb while the engine is running?

HA!!!!! Some one actually did this!!!! What ended up happening? Thread link please!!

i can't remember where i saw it,but it caused a big uproar on one of the civic forums, some smart ass told a kid to do it, and he actually did it. I almost feel sorry for him, almost. he took off the air filter and put the end of the intake tube in a bucket of sand to "port the intake manifold" of course it destroyed the engine. .

The guys should've got banned for that kind of advice!!! I'am what you guys call a newbie and hate when some1 trashes my question with some stupid remark!!! For Example
one hundred BILLION dollars! I ask questions for help and to gain knowledge about my cars!!! so I kinda understand where that kid is coming from... still he had poor judgement tho!!!

I dont think the one billion dollars comment is that bad. I feel that if you are more willing to type up a response than do your own research your opening yourself up for some smart-ass remark.

I got my in-line fuel pressure regulator at O'Reillys for about $30, the brand name is Moroso. I also put another in-line fuel filter between it & the weber.

Have you thought about rejetting? Maybe go with smaller jets or something? Where did you get the carb from?

i didn't think the morroso went that low, i asked at summit when i got mine, and the only one that went that low was the holley. Aeromotive has a low pressure bypass regulator now, it's a lot more expensive but it prevents the fuel pressure creep of a standard one. has a super precise internal check ball, and anything over the set pressure gets sent back to the tank, just like a FI one but at a much lower pressure. they came out with it recently.

found that return line regulator!!! WOW Great find!!! costly but i guess that will keep the pressure exact!!! im guessing in order to use that one... you have to run the return line right???

lostforawhile
02-14-2009, 08:36 PM
it's the low pressure one right? there are two,you will need to run a return line like on an FI car. not sure if you could just pull the fuel return line from one at the yard or not.

this is the number you need Universal Bypass Regulator, P/N 13301 it goes from 3-20 psi. it's a bypass. should be very stable. I think only the holley is lower, i need about 1.5 to 2 psi so i have to stick with it

it should be about 2 to 3 psi if it runs good and doesn't flood use it
