It would be STUPID if they put it in a sedan and make it FWD....

It says on the url that it will be a rear wheel drive vehicle. It would be bad ass to make a 3gen tube chasey with this motor and a rear wheel drive axle. And run the quarter mile.

It says expect it to be RWD....so its not a definite...

yeah it better have equal power per liter as the f20c does, so make it a 4 liter dohc vtec v8 with 500hp at 9000rpm lol

Hope they put it in a decent car like a new accord or legend also 4wd would be good
I just pray to the gods that honda doesnt do a toyota and go ehhhhh auto only

i like how they use an F1 engine as some sort of, "example" for what Honda'll be putting out for their lineup. honestly i think this has to be some serious trolling from Honda, or just a flat out joke. i mean...Honda's just not a sports car producer with the exception of the NSX under their belt.

I don't get it.

Why does Honda need a V8? They just scrapped the V10 NSX, after they already built it, and now they're starting over with a V8? I'm sure it will (would) go into an SH-AWD of some kind, but what was wrong with the V6? Or the V6 turbo? Was the M/RDX really underpowered? Do people actually buy Audis or BMWs just because they have two more cylinders?

Seems weird. Honda made their name on small displacement and high efficiency. I don't think it'll happen.

It's been canceled. No V8, no V10, no new NSX, the S2000 got the axe as well.

where do we rolling? just think about it, Toyota, the last sports car they made was MR2, it got axed, now they make Avensis and corolla shit..
Honda if they ax the last great car they make like S2000, there will be only Accord and civics left, again, boring.
Mazda, RX 8 is the looser try, it will be axed, MX5 maybe it will be another one as its a greatest roadster, they say.
The only one fast car Nissan makes is GTR, but its not a Nissan anymore tho, its like AMG Mercedes, the looks are mercedes, but beyond that everything is AMG made.

What I trying to say is if they keep in the same direction We will drive those soon http://www.nomck.no/bilder/ArnfinnS.JPG

Honda has always used technology from their racing engines and heritage in their production engines. That's what makes them one of the worlds best engine builders. Whether or not you like the cars that they put their engines in, they do build some of the most reliable, smoothest engines on the planet.

It's far from a joke really. Putting an F1 engine around 400 laps at up to 20,000RPM is an engineering feat. Being able to do that has enabled production cars to rev out to 9,000rpm and still be suitable for daily driving. By applying those engine building techniques to more economical engines has made them even more reliable.

Honda has a lot of racing history, and there's a ton of good info on their website about how it's applied to most of the things that Hondas engines are known for today. The saying "Racing improves the breed" was actually Sochiro Honda.

They did (http://www.leftlanenews.com/tough-times-force-honda-to-cancel-even-more-future-product-plans-including-rwd-acuras.html).

i think that was a waste of the north star motor
i like honda 's for the amount of power they squeeze reliably from a smallish motor.
have seen heaps of b16a motors with 300,000 km on them and still run sweet as

Did you guys ever see the 500ci Caddy from way back in the 70's? They made it front wheel drive with 500lb-ft of torque! Imagine pushing THAT through your front wheels. They did it to keep the floor flat in the car, for more space inside (as if the car wasn't already a freakin' yacht!). But they put the transmission under the engine, and connected it via some super-quiet chain. Now that's crazy.

they are dumping all their racing stuff too, so pretty soon all the honda stuff will be no better then camry. might as well merge the two companies

Camry is in NASCAR. That would make it better... as sad as that is...

But I have to say, if they made a RWD, pushrod, 4bbl V8 Camry, I'd probably rock one.

Heh heh. When those two extra cylinders push you back in your chair, slap you around a little and leave you breathless with a big sloppy grin on your face they do! :D

idt they axed the s2000 (yet). the article made it sound like just the s3000 was axed.

Japan's economy is in the shitter; they'd be stupid not to cancel the S2000. What freaks me out is that AMG and BMW M-cars saw increased sales last year. So maybe Honda was onto something the V8, but I doubt people would've bought a muscle/performance Honda anything just like they didn't but the NSX.

You can't just build a nice car, you have to have a name to go with it.

idt they axed the s2000 (yet). the article made it sound like just the s3000 was axed.no the s2000 was axed, it was in motorweek. there are a lot of very upset fans. they didn't make that many of them, but you have to understand all car makers need a prestige car, it attracts buyers to the brand and makes them want to buy other cars made by them.
