This is going to seem really cheesy, but I've been looking for a hood prop stay for so long and haven't been able to find one. I finally scavenged one off of a 4g Accord and it fits PERFECT! I'm so stoked I can hardly stand to be around myself.

(Yes, I know my engine bay is filthy. I'll get to that when I swap the engine.)

I feel like such a tool posting this when the Thais are posting up their Olympian thunder chariots. I'm still thrilled though.

Yeah I never knew these had problems with lasting very long. Mine is still there and working just fine.

mine's missing that plastic grommet piece that the prop goes into on that front brace piece behind the bumper cover. looks like it's time to go junk yard diving!!

i don't know if anyone's seen the guy from Taiwan and his Accord, but if one were to come across the Vigor trunk, would it be a direct bolt on replacement for the Accord third gen four door trunk??

Wow! And here I thought they just didn't bother to use them to cut on costs. I WANT ONE!

I snagged one off of my neighbor's car. He abandoned an 84 Accord in his yard between our houses. I knew mine was broken, so I went and snagged that hood prop. Soooo nice to have. I also snagged his alternator and a few other parts after he moved out. Shame the car was so beat up, there wasn't much on it that I could use.

yes the trunk is a direct bolt on... but you wont find one in the states you need someone to ship it over for you.. wich gets costly

Just go to the dealership and buy one. They aren't expensive.

why does it have to by one from over seas? are the trunks different from the US models and the Japanese models??

Uh, I have replaced both the prop holder and the grommet with new parts from Majestic over the years. Though, finding one on the cheap like that (in good shape) is always a plus.

Snooz, you and I have the same battery! I'm on my second Optima. It did last about twice as long as any other battery that's ever been in the car. Good thing, I guess because it cost twice as much. It gives a lot longer warning period before it won't start the car.

not to get off topic but i had that same battery and it lasted about 4 years. not bad considering i killed accidentally like 4 times. i upgraded to the yellow top cuz it's better cars with big demands like sound systems. oh and i too have been looking for that damn hood prop clip for a while now. one day i found 6 at one junk yard. took every last one and just payed for an ash tray, hahahhaha.

i was finally able to get clips for the hood prop today at the pick'n'pull, so finally i don't have to pop my trunk to get to my hood prop, :D
