"newbie" here.

A little about myself, I currently drive a 1989 LXi 4door, with 180k and counting, the only problem is that its a Auto. But hey the price was right. But it has needed a little TLC, I had to put on a new PS line, New CVT joint, 4 new Ball Joints all up front, new Fuel filter, and i have 2 new O2's to toss on there when i get around to it new thermostat. I also need to get my milage back up and try to smooth out my idle. I also have put 4 new BFG tires on it, before winter hit. The FF helped a lot with the milage, i have not burned thru a full tank yet to see how much of a diff it has made. No pics its a tan stock 89 accord.

My other rides, i currently have a 1997 Prelude 5spd. I have had it since 2000 and have done a LOT of Autocross work with it, and it modded for Solo. It is for sale, wile i will miss it, it will make way for a MUCH more exciting project. The Lude is "parked" for the winter trying to be sold from the front yard. (see link in sig)

The wife DD our 2004 Forester XT (turbo) 5spd. Still stock but i have some parts for it if i get some free time i will toss them on it.

Here is my new project that is the reason for me putting the Lude up for sale.

Its called a "locost" its a Lotus 7 copy, Caterham ect. I will be building it all from scratch. I have 90% of the chassis built, the rear suspension. I have all my steel for the front suspension but need to finish the design before i can build it. Here are some pics of what the final project will look like.

Yeah, I think Lil Mike said everything I was gonna say. That Locost looks like a sweet project! I would love to build one of those. What's your budget for that going to be? The 3800SC is a great motor, especially for the price! Do you have a primary car that you're sourcing the suspension from? Or is it all built from different stuff? Just love hearing what people use for different parts on their projects!

Well the Accord is in fairly good shape for the year of car in New York State, i had a 86 in 2000 and that was is MUCH worse shape than this one, this one does have a little rust poping thru in spots, maybe if i have a chance this summer i will try to slow it down.

The "budget" on the Locost is around $7,000-$10,000. Cheaper the better but i will not sacrafice quality, i will just wait and save for the correct parts.

I really wanted a S2000 (f20c) engine but they cost about $7000 for the engine and tranny so that blew my budget right out of the water, so that was/is out as a engine choice. And then if i could not get my 1st choice of engine then it MUST be factory boosted, it came down to the SR20dett and the L67... And well the L67 is cheaper and LOCAL, and if i ever needed parts for the Sr20 then it could take a VERY long time, and well there are GM dealers around every corner, and they made a zillion L67's.

The suspension stuff: Rear "stick" axle from a 2000 Camaro SS (with LSD), It has a 4-link with Panhard bar, that is designed and built by me.

Rear suspenion layout.

Front suspension: Spindles from a S10, not sure if i will need 2" drop spindles(or stockers) i might to get the best suspension geometry, the A-arms are custom Fab'd by me again.

Sweet locost.

SR20det (single T -- only one turbo ;) ) parts are actually pretty damned easy to come by, though the buy-in is probably higher than the buick motor.

But, I'd definitely want linear power in something like that, so turbo motor probably isn't a good choice anyway :)

Sweet project, I've seen a few of these at autocrosses and they look awesome!

No kit, have/will build all chassis and suspension! Yes there will be LOTS of hp compared to weight, about 300hp and 1600 lbs, and that is a very mild tune, allready have a 40hp cam, open exhaust equalls about ~20hp and a Pulley is just a phone call away:bandit:

Yes Single T... Brain fart at work ;) Yes there is a local guy that i Solo with that has one with a Pinto motor and suspension and it goes pretty good for 100hp, and another local has a series 4 Lotus seven:thumbup:

I'll post progress when i start building the suspension again >:)
