An 83 huh?
I'm not sure if you can convert this one to EFI (easily that is). The 82-83 (early 2nd gen) was kind of an hybrid between the 1st gen and the 2.5gen (84-85)
I'll do some research but I'm sure some 2nd gen gurus will give an answer as well.

i belive if you redo the front cross member you can install an A20A3 engine and use a efi prelude external fuel pump and make a stand alone harness
though if i was in your shoes i would just get a weber carb and call it a day

I like carbs, and I prefer carbs. BUT I also love things that are different. A fuel injected EK motor would be totally badass. It wouldn't be too terrible of a task, the hardest part would be finding the intake manifold, but the rest could be found easily.
I'd run Megasquirt for control. Pick up the Accel performance distributor which fits that motor and has crank and cam sensor outputs on it. Toss on some DCOE-style throttle bodies. Oh man that would be so badass! I'd love to do that on my 1g motor!
But if you don't have that kind of money to spend or the time to tune the ECU yourself, the single carb Weber conversions are well worth the money. The 38 is the only way to go. Great power pickup from that. Oh man, you should go on 1stGenCivic.org RIGHT NOW... there is a 4-2-1 header for sale for your car on there! They're so hard to find...
The 38 plus a header would be fantastic!

No no no no. I don't know the details of that stuff. I just read way too much on the internet. There's more to it than just that. That's just information to get started. :)
