Anyhow, the idea is to make those, so you can use rear tower bar you desire.
I still working on some clearances issues, but I'm getting ther..

Lat me know who want one, so I know how many is needed. And give me a price youll like to spend on it, keep in mind, those are not that easy to make, and time consuming. The first one took me 2 hours.

it just a brace, You color it your self in color you want and buy a strut from 90-97 accord and place it in.

markmdz89hatch
03-10-2009, 12:23 PM
I'll take a set too. ...you might need to raise the height of the brace in order to clear the plastics so that the bar will attach through the access panel instead of needing to cut the plastic. Sick welding skills Tom.

Damn son! u work fast!
lol glad to be a help to you man, but you can use any strut bar off ebay that has the little bolt/allen key thing on the adjustable end.... one sec let me show u a pic..
Ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__90-91-92-93-HONDA-ACCORD-UPPER-REAR-STRUT-BAR-DX-EX-LX_W0QQitemZ160320724045QQadiZ2865QQadnZCarQ20Q26Q 20TruckQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQcmdZViewItemQ QptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item16 0320724045&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65:15|39:1|240:1318#ht_2901wt_1071

pic: http://racingguys.onlinera.com/9093AccordRUBar.jpg
just something like that, cheap ebay stuff.

and to clear the plastic and stuff someone else would have to test fit it, cuz my trunk is gutted.
to answer the question bout the amp, it depends on the bar and the amp+ mounting location. I had to move my amp from the back of my seat because it wouldnt let the seat close all the way.

damn you and your 3D wizardry.

...I'm thinking even a little higher (don't remember just how high the plastic comes up) ...I'll get a pic up very soon

Tdurr
03-10-2009, 01:49 PM
hey, try not to make it extend too far out wile u raise it, other wise some bars might not fit. but if it has adjustable end then you should have a good 2 in of play room.

Ok guys, a little feed back.
I ordered material, so I'll start make those next week, so feel free to join.

I run this one time only for now, as the work shop I'm working in I will be for next 3 weeks.. So gather up.
Im redesigning those braces so you dont have to cut in to trunk upholstery, they will be a bit higher that is now.

Yes I can ship one set with just foot plates, can you drill holes yourself?
Those are plasma cut so they might seem a bit different, but all goes in 0.4mm tolerance.

to ghettogeddy: Thanks it was a good Idea

to ghettogeddy: Thanks it was a good Ideaof course, i like solid bars so the idea is to bolt them down, then make the bar,and mark it's exact location so it can be taken out and welded. the points where the bolts go through is the weakest point on a bar. talking about from the bar to the plate. if you get rid of the bolts and make it saolid you can see a dramatic increase in stiffness. the other option in using a removeable bar,is to use AN aircraft bolts, to hold two pieces together, they have a very precise non threaded section, you can drill the holes the exact size and the bolts will have almost zero play. when the threads go through a hole, there is a lot of play and the threads actually wear down and change the dimensions of the hole.

of course, i like solid bars so the idea is to bolt them down, then make the bar,and mark it's exact location so it can be taken out and welded. the points where the bolts go through is the weakest point on a bar. talking about from the bar to the plate. if you get rid of the bolts and make it saolid you can see a dramatic increase in stiffness. the other option in using a removeable bar,is to use AN aircraft bolts, to hold two pieces together, they have a very precise non threaded section, you can drill the holes the exact size and the bolts will have almost zero play. when the threads go through a hole, there is a lot of play and the threads actually wear down and change the dimensions of the hole.

The bolt size is 10mm I use bore bit 10.5mm for a hole so technically speaking its only 0.2mm of play on each side, you never notice that 0.2mm really, but ok, I mark it for you so you get what you want ;)

to Strugglebucket sorry bro, didnt meant to ;)

and yes, the front is in the making, but it is more complex, so If I do one the price will be a bit bigger. Its really time consuming work, the cuting bit is really simple, but there is where the ball stop rolling, those markings need to be exacly the same and drilling part is not simple, but I'll work some perfect one for reference.
I will be posting every update..

youre right, I thought about it as well, the third point can be mounted under, where 6'9 speakers mounts, the point of it was to get space for SUB box as its almost a must in nearly everycar nowadays.. and to bend it without mounting it is a flexible towerbar, as it need to have a tension to have any effect.

Tdurr youre right about me having big plans, I dont want to get ahead of my self right now, because I need to setle down abit, as I mentioned that the workshop I can use now, I'll be in for about 3 weeks from this manday. So complete towerbars will be not now, not yet. But I want to make it happen for us.

It be really good to have those measurements of DC bar, and better yet a trace of it, and a scan 1:1 and a reference scale on a side.
I can post an example of what measurements I'll be needing tomorrow..

Thanks everyone, You get me motivated

well its a loss to about 3 inches but a gain of a rear strut bar lol i think people can wing it lol and if there worried about the amp rubbing just but a piece of bar with a bar clamp on it and a flat metal piece that can be drilled into the box to keep the box still its kinda hard to describe what im talking about but my dad does boat canvas and such and they use them in the construction of the large back sections of yachts

stick with like DC, megen, and neuspeed etc .. ebay bars dont really help its just all in peoples head because they added something to there car so they think it made a diffrence just like people that put a short ram intake on and then they think it made there car faster even though it didnt .

Ok, well there is no time :( to send those as I'm quiting here in short time, but if You get me drawings of it and a trace. It would be fastest. Shipping take 2 weeks, by that time I'm gone from here.
If you can, take a A4 paper and trace foot plate on it, and then scan it on the computer and PM it to me, as well as hole diameter sizes and length of fastening plates, and hight. Here is mostly what I need, but the trace is important, as Plasma cutter is optical, it can trace the line.

forget it, there is no time anymore, I quit this fryday, and I have just enough time to do this one. I have few things besides that to do. so its only 4 days again. But I can use measurements anyways, maybe I find a way to do those this summer.

I have few updates for you, Today I have finished prep work, tomorrow I'll be starting on drilling all holes and maybe weld em all together.

I have bad news tho, Because the Plasma cutter is inaccurate machine, well that one we have is, they all a bit different, they are not all identical clones :S it desapointed me. But I'm sure they will work fine tho, I will be testing each and every one of them so they fit!! before selling it to you!

Ok guys I have bad news for ya :( I didnt got done with mounts, First af all, that old plasma cutter was so fkd up that it cut all plates different, so when 'I started drill holes, they we're different, didnt fit bolt pattern.
Anyhow I have good news tho, I moved so I'll gona see here where I find a company that might be willing to cut all plates for us. I can weld them.
I'm sorry if someone waited those bad, I figure this one out :D
