I figured I would post this to keep my mind off of all the crap going on, finally some air cleaners that actually fit. they are made from tailwheel hubs with aluminum adaptor plates on the back, the inlet screens are heavy stainless steel mesh. the blue on them right now is just dykem blue, I still need to finish machining the holes in the backing plate. I'll get some air filter foam to go inside of these. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/lostforawhile/S4020228-2.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/lostforawhile/S4020229-2.jpg

Nice! Lathes are amazingly useful aren't they? It's one of those tools that you never know how much you need until you have one. Then you find all kinds of uses for it and don't know how you lived without it.

thats actually an ancient one in my area at work,no one but me is able to get it to do anything. it's completly shot out,but it likes me. early 20th century I belive, old Clausing. they are pretty easy to find,my dad has one identical to it in atlanta, hoping one day he will give it to me.

ok new finish for the air cleaners, you didn't think i was done yet did you? this one is an experiment, i ground a new tool today that lets me turn a part and give a round part the appearance of being ball milled. I really like the finish of these hubs, they have a natural dark aluminum finish, looks like seventies and eighties aluminum parts. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/lostforawhile/S4020231-2.jpg
