well i had a blown head gasket 3 weeks back. i replaces the gasket and i got the head rebuilt for $260 with new seals, springs, and valves. so i put the motor back together and when i started it up, there was a big cloud of white/light blue smoke coming out the exhaust pipe so i waited for 5 minutes to see if it would go away and it did not, so what can be the problem?

id check the timing belt and make sure its installed properly. 3or 4 teeth out and it could run bad... does it make any ticking sounds or anything?
light blue smoke sounds like oil burning

Make sure the timing is set properly, and then run a compression test.

How about you just drive the car for a bit? You just changed the head gasket. I would not be surprised if theres still water in the exhaust that is burning off.

its a blown gasket. idk what you could of done wrong. Maybe over tighen the head gasket. did you torque to specs.
Head bolts are:
Step 1:22 ft-lbs
Step 2:29 ft-lbs
If you didnt do that then thats your problem

Right inbetween the runners. so ()()HERE()() you'll see a tube with a piece of foam pretty much. And its a metal valve. no plastic
