Any body know a good way to fix this? the light has two frankenstein bolts positioned on the neck, I removed the light because It vibrates on the window

if you go to a J/Y look at some of the 3g's in the yard, there is a rubber gasket that goes around the center brake light

the only reason i could think of that they didnt put gaskets on the 88s 89s is maybe if the came off, it would be a baby choking hazard, the accord was family car, probally not a good reputation if it was killing babys

Shoot, I wish I would have seen this earlier.

I use Peel and Seal when I'm not considering weight. It's $14 a roll at Home Depot and 1 roll will cover the floor at least once.

i would just completely get rid the brake light and re carpet the back deck !

I did on my sedan, but some people think they'll get a ticket.

after 1986 the need for the 3rd brake light in the center position was madated by the safty control board of some sort. Ive gotten that ticket and lost that in court. Went from a fix it ticket to a major infraction. Had I just went home and replaced the light I would have saved a ton of time and money. Oh well. It was a custom and a cunt of a sherriff

everyone gets pulled over in lynnwood. I lived there for 5 years and moved beacuse I was single handedly biulding the new city hall in fees fines and tickets. They are the most ticketed town in the state pre capita. I got red light cam tickets from there and even got a faliure to yield off a camera. They are a total joke. As much money as they make from the cops and the town is still a huge shithole. Its in my most hated places towns that should be noked list. #2 right after everett. Major shitholes.

I got more tickets in mill creek from the same dyke sherriff. Most were fix it tickets and I even brought her up on charges for harrassment. I didnt do any good but i bet I got pulled over 4 of 7 days a week by her. Different things each time. I had a lowered S10 extremem blazer with all the bells at the time. Frame dragger, bagged, strobes on every light you can imagine. i had the envoy front end with led switchable bulb colors. Id have to go change something that night to prove I fixed it. they would waive the ticket and Id go home and put it right back on. I miss those days. More money then brains and more time then jesus

did that today because my licence plate lights were out, and was tired of not having a center light, been about a year

its pushed all the way back and as tight as the screws are it still moves around and tatatatatatatatatadddduuhhhhhhhs the window :banghead:

:uh: I think I found a solution to my problem, car door trim gaurd

its going to me either this or putting two additional screws where my center light mounts

why honda made the center light the way they did is beyond me, why did they not anticipate me putting two 12's in a japanese family car

mykwikcoupe

that trim guard doesnt like to bend tight corners. youll find itll slip off when the adhesive gets hot in the back window. Its a good idea but try the thinnest, lightest stuff you can find. Hopefully your luck is better then mine.

What if you cut a strip from like a bicycle tube and super glued it around the edge of the light. Don't know if it would work but it might be worth a shot. What do you have to lose. Or maybe a piece of auto carpet to match the rear deck, them you could cover the whole thing and you wouldn't just see a plastic light. Not sure if they would work but they are a couple ideas.

thats a good idea, I'm going to try to add two screws first, its raining hard where i live

It doesn't matter how big you are it is still a pain in the butt to take out and put in. I took mine out to tint my windows along with the rear speakers and it was a pain. Why couldn't they just make the window curved like most other ones instead of having a sharp curve on the sides. Oh well once it's done it's done. Might try to put subs in this weekend, if I do I'm sure I'll have to deal with it. Will let you know.

ok the problem is, the light vibrates against the glass from hard hitting bass... move the light back 1/8 inch or so? use silicone?

I just took it out on my car. With tint, you can't see the light worth shit anyway. I also took out the rear wiper. Weight reduction..

Back from the dead... My bass damn near caves my chest in and the brake light doesn't hit the glass. However, the whole carpeted rear deck cover bounces around. Of course, I might not have as much as you guys, I'm an old man.

idk if this had been mentioned but.. you could get a ticket for not having that 3rd break light, and some places will fail you in inspection if they see it missing.
