so...recently i noticed clicking when the wheel's turned more than 90* or sometimes less, along with the wheel vibrating under acceleration. NOW, i checked the lug nuts in the front and they're all tight and torqued to specs, so that leaves me a bit blank on the reason for the steering wheel vibration. BUT, the clicking i'm sure is just the axles, but i wanted to make sure before i go replacing them.

sounds like you might need a new CV joint...

that's what i'm leaning towards, just dont want to spend the $150 for nuthin'...but then again i'm hoping the drive axles are causing the wheel vibration too

get under the car and look at them atleast are the boots riped or gone completely? normaly the axles go bad after that boot falls off and water gets in there so inspect them up, from the sound of it though im guessing your gonna find a big gash in one of the boots

i'm pretty sure of it, i'm still confused about the wheel vibrations though...:stick:

most likely your ball joints and bushings.. sadly these cars are old and im guessing they never have been done, also if you get bad vibration under brakeing sometimes the caliper bracket gets out of whack and is needed ot replace it.. but thats very rare

i just replaced the control arm ball joints, and it was brought to my attention tie rods are a possibility...so now we're looking at new CVs and tie rods, :( :(

damn cv joints, I had a shop replace one, and the less than a year the other side had a torn boot and started clicking,

i think tie-rods are inexpensive, no?

i'm sure...i just wouldn't mind getting my hands on some cool sets so i could do the back tie rods as well

lol, I'd save your money if its not cost effective, I would think better axels if one or the other

The vibrating may be the axle. I had one go bad and the car bounced pretty bad.

I think grind is after clicking.

the vibration feels like a wheel's loose, but it's not...hince the reason we came the conclusion of tie rods...and by, "we" i mean myself and the mouse living in my pocket. :ugh2:

did u check the tie rods for play?
and if the boots on any of your tie rods or ball joints are torn its also a good idea to replace them

you can get them on a four wheel steer prelude, they will bolt right up to a three g,here are the super rare jdm edm ones from the back on a 5 door sedan 3 g. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/lostforawhile/S4020243-3.jpg

make sure while you are back there to check the muffler bearings and check your rear blinker fluid as well

you know there is no such thing as a rear tie rod right? we are messing with you. you would have to convert the car to the entire system from a four wheel steer prelude, I don't even think thats possible, and the parts are nearly impossible to find.
