I just got home from the yard and I found a full sunroof assembly in really good shape, like almost new. It was in an '88 4-door. Will it fit in my '88 hatch? I bought it with the assumption that its just another universal part. If not I can take it back, no sweat. I just dont want to tear my headliner out if its not necessary.

You will have to do lots of cutting. Did you grab the subharness and switch as well?

It would be cool to see a hatch with a sunroof.

My hatch already has a sunroof but it doesnt work; the car is already wired with a switch and everything.

Heres the deal---
Ive seen examples of other sunroofs with the drain pan and rails rusted out. The sunroof currently in my car isnt working. I figured that if I pull the headliner down I would find the same thing; nothing but rust. SO when I saw this one at the yard in nearly brand new shape I figured I would grab it just in case it would fit. You know how Honda is sometimes, they make one for the coupe and a different one for the sedan and so on. I wondering if this sedan sunroof is the same as the one in my hatch.

Second question--Is it rare to find a sunroof in a hatch??

I've seen one before. The one I owned didn't have one though.

good call. the glass in the car is 32 inches wide and the glass in the one I just bought is 34 inches. Hmmm, maybe I can swap the glass. I got 30 days to return it if it doesnt fit. I guess I'll be pulling down that headliner anyway now.
