:dunno: How do you remove the fuel cut off relay from behind the fuse box on an '87 accord? I think mine has gone south. I've tried prying on it but I don't want to break anything. I can't see anything that's "locking" it in - am I missin' something?

And, by the way, what does the fuel cut off relay do? - besides, of course, cut off the fuel - why does the fuel need to be cut off? why can't the fuel pump shut off with the ignition?

I believe it shuts off so you don't blow your engine up?

I think thats the one that cuts the fuel if you go over the upper RPM limit. You may have to disconect the battery and pull the fuse box down to work on it.

What are you experiencing that you think its bad ?

Does this fuel cutoff relay you speak of turn the fuel pump off or something else on the carb? cause if it turns the pump off wouldnt the motor over rev anyway until the float bowl empties

it keeps your ass from becoming well done in a crash, if the ignition turns off or cuts off,it keeps a broken fuel line from pouring gas everywhere.
