heh, apparently the Japanese didn't realize the waste of money that'd be to import our American crap into their country

heh, apparently the Japanese didn't realize the waste of money that'd be to import our American crap into their country

actully it made them more money as it was cheeper to build cars here and sell them there same reason back in the 70s it was cheeper to build in japan and ship here... all had to do with the cost/availabilty of raw materials... learn some history

sorry i cant help with the emblem.. for some reason i think the 3g ones didnt look like that... but im most likely rong

so you're saying our economy was strong in 1988 so much that we'd ship an Accord over to them for ONE year??? i'm lost...

naaa they did it for many years, the 88 coupe 3g was the first to ship out of the states.. to celabrate this they made a special badge for the first shipment (or mayby it was year) for the stearing wheel , they have done it on many cars and i bleive they still might export a certain style honda

i suppose...but i don't understand why the owners of Honda would let their American counter parts to ship back to them...that just makes NO sense

CA is what the japanese called the fixed headlight accords
LX some carbed model A20A1 / BS in the USA
LX-i some fuel injected model A20A3 / BT in the USA
EX I think is the canadian version of the LX, over here in NZ i think it's the most shittest accord trim

A.L.B, anti locking brakes

all the ef/gf's i have seen have got power steering, i havent seen an accord from japan without power steer i think its factory. Only NZDM/EDM accords come with manual steering on the poverty pack a20a2 model

are you sure you're not thinking of the ef/gf extra, which has those as 'extra' features. i think the ef stands for extreme failure

What is ASCOT INNOVA , ACCORD INSPIRE and GXL-S come from?

Joay
03-28-2009, 05:41 PM
The Ascot / Innova was a Japan-only thing I'm pretty sure. The Inspire was kind of an Accord spinoff based on the Vigor / TL platform that might have been sold outside Japan, dunno. We got the Acura Vigor in America, which was the same as the Honda Vigor the Inspire was based on (post-3G CA Vigor, obviously).

accord GXL-S is a 3g accord with fixed headlights and a twin carb b18a engine
