Hi, have recently installed an uniden vs255xr alarm in my car and am able to arm it correctly, however a few things aren't working quite right with it so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had help from a mate to install this for me.

now when i want to disarm it i press button #1 on the remote like it says, but that just sets the alarm off, so to disarm it i'm having to unlock and open the door and press button #1 two times and turn the key to the on position before it disarms.

also another thing i would like to know is if i can have the alarm lock and unlock the doors with the remote without buying extra parts.

I had one of those on my accord ages ago, seemed to work, button 1 will arm (one chirp) and press it again and it will disarm (2 chirps)

it should have central locking output wires that you just tap into the central locking controller wires that are under the seat
Holding the 1 button down will set the alarm off....
make sure its wired correctly.

damn good car alarms too i got one, funny how all other brands of expensive car alarms end up with people getting their cars stolen

ok, my yellow wire is on fuse #15 and my red wire is on fuse #6 under the hood, is this the correct ones to have them wired to?

found out my alarm is sort of disarming when i press the disarm button, it's just the external siren i added that keeps going until i turn the key which is kind of annoying and pissing one of my neighbours off whenever i want in my car...

have also wired the alarm to the door unlock and lock and that is now working perfect :)

the siren was added with the orange cable, the idea was to have the main siren that all the cables come out of in behind the stereo and then have the added siren at the bottom right front of the car

hmm, i wonder if i can tap into the wiring that does the main siren then without damaging the alarm system...

Youll probably break it, ive had my old one apart and its an audio output into the alarms siren speaker.

any wires from audio output to siren speaker? or are they attached, if there's upto 2 wires it may still be possible, i'm still thinking of other ways i could work around this

you can grab the 2 wires that go to the speaker and run it to another horn speaker

are the 2 wires inside the alarm system?

ok, i'll wire the external siren up to these wires as soon as i've got some spare time.

Another thing, where would i wire the orange wire to if i wanted the indicators to flash upon arm and disarm?

orange wire ---->--- right indicator
orange wire ---->--- left indicator

---->--- is a diode if you know what they are basically it allows current flow one way... the way the > points

have decided not to have the indicators flash, and to fix the external siren problem i'm going to add an inline switch on the orange cable to control it
