ok guys here goes.
ive been reading these forums for the last 2 days.
i bought an 89 lx after owning a 86 lxi. i love these cars. mine has a weber carb conversion and i love it. it also has nuespeed springs with kyb gr2 struts. i paid 475$ for this car!
now there are a few problems i would like some help with...
1. start up is amazing, its when the car is started where problems start...
i have to drive right away for the car to stay running...if i dont the car stalls and sputters erratically. after about 5-10 min of driving the car evens itself out but still idles very poorly. i also smell something buring which smells like oil or coolant. i hope its not coolant.
2. im worried about the cars idle, its kinda scary. i fell like the car bolts could come loose!! is it bad for the car to sputter like this??
3 also, when i shut the car off, it makes a knocking/ping noise that sounds like the engine is sucking air back into the car.
i belive it might be some carbon buildup or bad pcv. help please.
