Bumper Lights

K....Im just woundering what wire you tap from side marker lights to make the bumper lights turn on when side marker lights are on, Yet blink and all when side marker light does...Shouldnt be hard. but i dont know which one to tap from. Who has done this? i asked this before but i want to see whos done this...tommorow i well be finishing up the accord. I would like to do this..:uh:

you could switch out the bulb socket to accept a dual filiment bulb so that you can tap the 3rd wire into the corner lights

the problem with your car is the socket is built in to the light housing so what u have to do is go to a junkyard get some 88-89 bumper lights take the lens off then put the 86-87 lens on it trim the housing with a dremel so that it will fit in ur bumper and then grab some taillight bulb sockets with the dual filament sockets and then just wire the sockets up red wire would go to the red wire on the corner light green to green and black to black

its easier then it sounds only takes about 20 minutes

its not that hard man, if i get off my ass (or if someone sends me a set of tail light sockets) i will make a step by step how to, the tail light sockets are plug and play just gotta run 1 new wire.

um 3g tail light sockets work or almost any honda socket that has a dual socket (3 wire) plug. these plugs will plug right into the 88-89 signal... cah just told me online that you have a 86-87 style wich means you will have to install 88-89s in there as the 86-87 doesnt have a removeable socket.

but man you have a turbo 3g... this should be a walk in the park compaird to that. i will try to find some sockets and help you out as much as you need though

I can confirm that the rear bulb sockets fit in the 88-89 bumper signals with a little trimming of one of the tabs on the socket. no cutting into the bumper lamps

cant do that to a 86 bumper thou...SUCKS ASS..unless i have to cut the hole and jb weld the dual socket in there...or idk silk_sohc did it like without doing all that he just added a wire or two and bam...NICE pico great job...you should do a how to on this would help alot of people...i vote STICKY lol

i think the way he did it was so that it was on all the time and when the blinker came on the light shut off/on not dimm to bright (get what im saying) this can be done by adding a resistor someplace and feeding off of the side signal wire i will look into it.. and if pico doesnt make a howto (or anyone else) i will be hitting a junkyard on like tuesday and i will grab some sockets and throw one up since the setup is almost identical as my cd7

I didnt think about taking pics when I did this labeledsk8r, so it would be great if you get a chance to do the how to.
As far as the wiring, the taillamp socket has 3wires, Blk.,Red,Green.
The Bumper Lamps have 2wires, Blk,and Green.
Its just a matter of matching the color wires to each other and to take the red wire and tap into the red wire in the corner lamps.
Heres a pic of the socket showing which tab to remove. And dont forget you'll need #1157 bulbs

well i did some testing and i got the bumper light to work but its a FAIL for me.....it works since i tap the green wire on ther bumper to red wire on side marker worked but then the rear singal is on also lol.....okay so i tryed the green wire on the blinker light on the side marke and a no go nothing happens...so idk i got to go research what silk_sohc told me

Isnt the current parrelel? Like red on red black on black to what ever light you want to add on to.

I try tapping into the one that is parking/singal but it stays off and dont do nothing....so the parking light the first one is always on so i tapped into that one works...FUCK THIS SUCKS lol..if i had a 88 bumper it would work...but i got custom paint so that blows..lol....so idk i prolly use a dremel an get at it and install the duel fittment....works best and easy i guess....i just dont know how to make the bumper light to singal/parking to work right...righ now they all work as in parking lights but when i hit blinker i get the hyper mode lol on only the one light that blinks on side maker....:banghead::burn:

did you tap into the correct one on the signal part of the side marker? do your signal side markers work? it can be done man just gotta go at it slowly, i wish i had a 86-87 style setup infront of me to work one out

the 88-89 duel setup is easy though if you dont mind makeing a custom base for it

yeah all work...i was messing with them for a hour....Red and black wires is the parking ONLY on the side market which is th front one...the secound one with the orange lenses is green and black wires i had a test light and green was positive and the black was ground same as following for the parking....SO idk when i tapped into the green one nothing happen and the light itself turned off and dont blink when i hit the blinker....SO i was like okay so i tryed adding the ground to it to nothign..................SO i went to the parking one which is red and black wires and tapped into the red on worked but then the back turn signal was on so im like okay i had to cut the green wire on the bumper light leaving some to work with and tapped that and worked but now i have hyper mod lol....w/e i guess

No....they are molded in so you either have to cut and replace em or did what i did just added a light to the housing itself...i got pics on my build thread...i used my city lights off the cheap ebay housing since the just pop off and on....easy looks the same and you have you turn singles also...

yeah i was just reading your update thread, much easyer then haveing to install a new socket when drilling a small hole is easyer on those...i wonder what honda was thinking on those 86-87 designs lol.. looks good man

Thanks....so its simple just got to add a hole...if i had a 88/89 bumper would be easy since the socket comes out itself...i was like wtf ey lol...but all in all looks good i hate the blue so im going to get xenon lights would look bright and white
