Anyone got photos of how to mount a 5-pound fire extinguisher in the trunk? I keep it in case I need to battle grass fire when flying radio controlled airplane with high discharge lithium batteries, which are known to burst into a great blaze and burn houses down.

i just have mine tossed in there. it came with a little velcro system but that was crap so i don't use it. and by 5# extinguisher, you mean one that's probably the size of a 1.5 liter bottle right?

i hope you have one for your car, as far as mounting it, how fast do you need it. a five pound is much bigger then that. if you are battling grass fires you need at least a five pound, not a pea shooter. it's also a really bad idea to mount them to the a pillar, mount them low in the floor pan up near the fire wall, people have been killed in wrecks mounting them to the A pillar.

Yeah, a 5 lb is quite a bit larger.. I have a small one here..

I think a larger one would fit nicely where my changer is...horizontal, of course.

the best place to put it is attached to the floor pan on the passenger side next to the center console. if it's on the A pillar it becomes a projectile in a wreck, if it's down near the floor even if it comes loose it's probably going to just end up against the firewall. when you see them in race cars on the pillars, they are usually attached to the roll bar,and the driver is belted in wearing a helmet,it's not so much an issue because there's normally no one on that side. they are also put there in case the safety crew needs to use it even though they probably have a 20 pound one if needed.

I agree with that. That is where the one is my Prelude is, and I like it there.
