So, on a whim, with my faded chilton manual in hand, I decided "What the hell, I'm broke as hell, I can do my rear brakes myself no problem, right?" So, after a quick trip to NAPA I had some shoes, a hardware kit, brake cleaner, and some lithium grease. Removal - No problem. Took me all of 5 minutes. Installation... well, seeing as how I've done nothing brake-wise other than replacing my front hoses, is not going as planned. I'm stuck, and I need help.

Heres where I'm at (Step 15 or 16 I think, if anyone has a chilton they wanna take a gander at). Basically, I've attached my parking brake cable, and I've tried to attach that little arm (I circled it in red). Does this all look ok to you so far (particularly the spring, circled in green), and where do I go from here? Excuse the grease all over the brake metal, simple misunderstanding...

Um without looking at anything myself I would take the other wheel off and look at the other side.

Of the top of my head green spring goes accross hooking both shoes.

The arm is what the parking brake cable goes to.

I think (guess) the red hooks the bottom shoes together. The self adjuster (screw thing) goes in the top slots on Honda's and the metal tab keeps it from turning

And good lord get rid of all that grease!!!

tip...do one side at a time and see what the other side looks like...i always forget so i leave one side untouched an the other apart...for a good reason..

Green spring connects to other shoe same spot but a pain

The brozne clip keeps the adjuster from moving, the other is to keep the clip from moving so you not that messed up...

Do yourself a favor and pick up the factory manual. Chilton's leaves a lot to be desired. It's available here:

One more thing- there was no separate piece around the pivot pin that i would assume would be a wave washer, there was just the U clip. Am I ok?
