So i got a 88 lxi, and the ecu has been flashing code 6 for the longest time. I replaced the sensor, the clip it self, and tested the clip for flow and got the right amount....

i have 2 sensors, the one on the right uses the green clip and the one of the left uses the tan on right?

sorry for the late reply.. well from what ive experienced just make sure theres no chunks of the cap missing.. and the little metal contact points inside... make sure those are clean... and your set to go!

there is a thread here somewhere, that I posted the schematic for that circuit. It looks like the egr sensor could set the same code to me, even though Im sure there is another code for that.

autozone should get you the right sensor if your order it thru them..it'll be like 30 bucks. i thought they were wrong when i got mine but they weren't..... the two sensors can't plug into the other and the thread sizes are different...the fan switch has a much bigger hole to screw in....i also believe that 86/87 are the same but in 88 and 89 they switched positions.....mine was closest to the block...but i think yours isn't.....its the smaller diameter one

Green plug goes to the larger green fan switch. Tan (once white) plug goes to the smaller black TW sensor. Use dielectric grease and seal the cracking rubber boot with silicone to prevent moisture from getting in there.
