Okay can someone explain to me wat its real purpose. I know it has something to do with the oil but im not 100% sure.

I ask this because i was told my car smokes on hard downshifts(hehe we were on the hwy, but it was described as a typical honda kinda puff), and i noticed yesterday that the breather filter on my valve cover is dripping oil through the filter element. can a problem in the pvc system cause both of these?

and would a catch can fix this if it was a pvc system problem?

I would run a catchcan system...what pvc system is it relives crank case pressure...which builds up when you get one it...at idle its sucking it all the time. and reburns...saying that i dont have mine connect like stock for the fact im boosted..anywho...get a catch can setup ...make sure its vented can....it well have a drain hole and 2 holes on top...one for pvc valve and the other to v/c an a big ass filter on top.. ask A20A3 or look at his setup...so many ways you can do it man but i like the vented style...and it well catch a bunch of shit...like yellowish crash...smells like gas.....but hoped i help..

And if your getting smoke....Means bad rings the crankcase pressure is getting thur your rings and burning it...WHICH causes smoke....So i dont want to say this....CRANKCASE PRESSURE OWNED YOU.....

make sure you don't over fill it also, if you do it will overwhelm the oil seperator at the back of the block and it won't work.

Just like rendon lx-i said it could be the rings, But the reason i think its the rings is because-if you had some head work done your creating more compression with the stock rings and they may be giving. That happened to me on another motor i built. You can try the oil catch can and see if it clears up, But to me you shouldnt get any oil on that filter. I just had a head done now im moving to the bottom end to compliment the high horse heads if that makes sence. Let me know how it turns out.

On the intake manifold in front of the carb. Look for a u shaped hose.

if the pcv is plugged or the oil pan hose isn't connected or leaking, crankcase pressure will blow out the fitting on the valve cover

I know the oil pan hose is connected(i re clamped the hose lol) but i dono. Im gonna take the lil filter off, clean it, then see how dirty it gets in a week.

its the metal valve on the end of the s shape hose with the foam on it. so it comes form the intake and s's down to the injectors next to the water jacket...Its a pain to take out...i tryed a vise grip since its a metal valve...FUCK no didnt come out...i just left it in for now...its working still so w/e.....I dont think its your pcv system at all....i think you have alot of blow by which happens...but only thing man i can say if it keeps happing...just do a mild rebuild...might as well

why the crap did they need carbide bits for a valve cover, and why didn't they tap the holes and do it right? also just drilling holes in the cover, means no baffles to keep oil splash out inside.

yea ill buy a catch can, lol thanks for the link i know what they are. And a compression test will happen sometime soon. Mainly cuz i want to know the compression on #1 cuz thats where i bent the valves....
