86-87 jdm fogs had folding covers, sick aye, but the power folding mirrors only come optional on 88-89 models with high end trims like 2.0Si's and SuperStages
I also have my mirrors wired to my central locking/alarm

use any control box from any honda they are all the same. some later preludes might have a 7 wire box but still sort of the same.

Hey is the control box needed just for folding function or is it needed for mirror controls as well? Do non-power folding mirrors have control box too?

ya
there still power
the only ones that dont are the dx's
but the control looks exactly the same besides the fold switch at the bottom
the control box is only for folding mirrors, non folding mirrord cars don't have them

Ah just as I thought. They are similar with newer Honda I guess?
I believe I could replicate the same function of the control box with regular relay and maybe some electronics.
Local junkyard wants too much money for both switch and control box. Screw that!

all the box does is changes the polarity of the current going to the mirrors every time you press the button, and then it turns off power to the mirrors after 30 or so seconds

That turns off power after xx seconds could be a problem. That, and how pressing the fold switch actually keep fold-in relay circuit close for certain second and press it again it triggers the fold-out relay. I'm not that good with electronics lol.
I can replicate the reverse polarity thing without much problem with regular DPDT relay. I guess I should pay the $$ to use the proper switch and box :(

says the guy with my hood, 3 b2oa engine 2 b2k5 transmissions, and every other thing most people on the site want. On a side note, hows your bestbuy discount? Cheaper than shipping to wa?

for the delay use a capacitor, have it charge when u press the button then slowly discharge it thru a transistor that makes a relay turn on and when the cap drys up it turns off

Ah never thought of that lol. Regular timer circuit would work here right?
Also, I've noticed on the Nissan mirrors I have, it has cutoff circuit built in, the motor won't move any further if there are still power applied. I'm curious about Honda setup, since Nissan don't require any control box. Do the folding motor still move if there are still power going to it?

the mirror stops moving when its folded into its correct place but you cant adjust it while it still has power to it if you fold it in after its folded out it will decide to fold out again so you probably could leave the power going into it but honda is smarter than nissan so yeah
