View Full Version : Need help adjusting my valve clearance

I've got everything in order except the reverse-flow design confused the hell out of me. Which is the intake valve and which one is the exhaust?

I know the far ends are intake (or at least I thought it is), but the middle 4 valves? halp!?

Can you peek under at the shape of the intake/exhaust, and determine from there? I seem to remember some of those engines had siamesed exhaust ports, which would mean the 2nd and 3rd from each end would be exhaust.

IEEIIEEI Intake- Exhaust valve layout until the 2nd gen Accords.
Valve clearances of
0.12-0.17mm Intake
0.25-0.30mm Exhaust
According to the '79 manual.

Well, I've decided to put everything back together since I couldn't break the retaining nut free haha. At least not now since I've hurt my back again and it ain't fun.

Oh there you go. 79Cord always coming through with the good info. I was gonna post this, it's for 1981. Top are intake, bottom exhaust.
