So here it is. I was going to start work on it today but when I opened it up the car was infested with ants!!!! I guess I must parked on top of an ant hill and the little bastards decided to make themselves at home. I put some ant traps in there which is supposed to kill them in 24 hours. So I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow.

Wow yeah you weren't kidding when you said the interior is trashed. Looks like a solid car though, good base to start with. Must have been a desert car maybe? The UV rays and heat will just dissolve those leather seats. I'd hit that engine bay with a pressure washer, replace the interior, maybe either have a shop redo the foam and leather, or find a nice grey LX donor.

My neighbors, the people that owned this car used to live in Redwood City if I remember correctly before they moved here. They bought the car new down there. They drove the car all the time when they first moved up here and for several years after until they got their 93 Accord EX Wagon. Then the car sat for several years up until the time that they moved down the road a few miles. They were going to have it hauled off because they thought the transaxle was bad but before the guys came to get it they asked me if I was interested in it. It sat in a field behind their house in direct sunlight every day for a long time. The interior has definite signs of sun damage. They also had two kids in this car all the time also so it has your typical youngster filth and wear too.

my goodness! it looks like a solid foundation for a good project car, but yeah inside says a lot about the care. the 85 SE-i interior is quite fragile, and i have seen one deteriorate from pristine to trash within a few years. when I was taking the pics of mine, i accidentally pressed one of the seat cover hooks into the leather seat. while honda used more leather than in later models, the hide was impossibly thin. easy prey to sun rays.

Looks a solid original car but the sun damage to the paint & the interioir is hellish!
Did all the SEi's have a top tint windscreen?

You know, I'm not sure. I just went and looked at the glass and it's not OEM Honda glass in it so it must have been replaced at some point. I was just looking at a picture of my 84 Accord I used to have and it looks like it has the top tint too.

The body's in good shape, that's what counts. Interior is easy.
