SOooooo long story short, i kno a guy who can get me a full k-swap for lets say same price as a turbo A20 set up.... Would it work with an extra 1k of parts/fab. I know some people who can weld and fab stuff up. Im thinking engine management(cuz k series are obo2 right?) and axles. I've heard u can get axles custom made for the proper specs from driveshaft shop. True?
lol. Just a General feedback thread.

Thats true man...thats one hell of a swap...i mean its legit dont get me wrong....but anything is possible...shit if they can get a 4g63 in well thats nothing....i never seen it done so idk what to tell you? since its something you want to do...you would have to figure out and let us know....IDK would be sweet.

Accords have so much hood clearance, I don't see any fitment issue.

yeah if h22s can fit then a k series well to
MessyHonda
05-17-2009, 10:17 PM
yes we need to see a 6 speed 3 gee
if not you could try install it on a bit of a angle, or add a lump in the bonnet to make up for the extra space needed like they do on the old dohc hondas

Ya but when H22 is in 3Gee there is only soo much clearance between oilpan and ground. And you must not forget that the exhaust is on the back of the engine so this might be an issue.

edit: I'd do it "maybe" but las time I checked the K20a JDM were to expensive. I believe like 4-5k USD without shipping. from NZ. so this has turn me off.

I've seen people spend $10k + installing in an eg so I don't know how you would do it for less then that. Not saying you couldn't but everything starts adding up.

the k24 longblock, I wouldn't let it go completely free lulz.. You pay shipping and give me 300 bux, and its yours. My brother paid a little over 1k for it, and then I traded my old turbo kit for this..
ninja edit:
Or if you got some nice staggered 19s I'll take those.. That's the only reason I would sell the engine for, cause I need 300 bucks for my Varianzas ;)

I have my K20 on the stand now with all parts and im putting it in on this thursday if things go right. Also there is a custom driveshaft shop on jonesboro rd. They will make shafts there for you. I got pic of start to finish. Also tdurr i got a extra hatch shell if you know anybody that want a hatch, its the one you seen up at the lake. I picked up a 5 speed hatch that im doing a full frame up on and its going great so far. Let me no

Good luck, I had a K20Z1 a few years ago and was going to do this, but it was going to cost nearly $5000 just to put it and custom fab everything.

the hardest part wouldn't be the install it would definitely be the wiring. just my .02
Tdurr

wiring is easy. thats natural for me. lol. getting it to sit right would be the hard part. it would get a full tuck if i did put a kswap in anything.

You can have the shell when im done wit it. Shld be done in abt 2 weeks and if your interested in a k series i kno where two are for 1500.00 each with less than 80,000 on them. Let me know.

i'm in canada, i bet the shipping would be insane to get one of them here. and they probably not out of crv's

lol ok man, so wiring k-pro into your obd0 car would be the easy part? and "get a full tuck" or "do a full tuck".

lol dont bash my internet lingo! aint nuttin wrong it it fool!
but regardless, tucking aint hard, just time consuming.
and if i was swapping in any other motor regardless id prob go stand alone. Just to put it over the edge. So yea. dont doubt me! haha :bong: :gun:

i'll doubt you and your "lingo" till i see it.
sorry it's the nature of internet talking... i can't believe a word you say until i see that you can actually do it. so when you k swap your car i'll believe you in saying that the wiring is the easy part. in my opinion wiring is easy, especially if you do it wrong. it's easy for me, however, having been taught the right way to do a lot of it. stuff that would have caused me to go ape shit 3 years ago i now do in 2 minutes. but something that's never been done before, like a k motor into an accord, the hard part is going to get the wiring done properly not the mounting or axles as all that shit has been done a ton of times just in different applications. but seeing as how the accord isn't even wired for OBD anything i will continue to say that's the hard part.

I would agree the wiring is the easy part as most of these new motors the engine harness goes right into the firewall to the ECU! so half of your work is already done and if running a Kpro most of the emission sensors and monitors can be disabled. but getting the motor in mounted where it's not hitting the hood or too close to the ground is tough on that tall motor.
stat1K
06-04-2009, 06:50 PM
yeah it's pretty difficult to cut a hole in the hood like the crx or hatch... or even the j swap in the eg...
i know how expensive a sawzall can get...
