Im using crome to try and learn about this stuff and I read through the intro and felt comfortable with it but when i finally downloaded the .bin files i needed I realized i might need some more help afterall. To my understanding you find the map that most closely fits and the ecu you are using and you swap values around is the first step. So from http://mycomputerninja.com/~jon/www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Library/EcuDefinitionCodes.html I dounloaded the PH3 JDM B20A map and the stock P06 file with the intent on trying to replicate the 2 together in the end. When I opened them i was greeted with pic of something I wasnt expecting. Whats with all the red on the left PH3 rom?

Im assuming the difference in rpm values really doesnt matter for the basemap. Im not sure and looking for some insight on what Im doing wrong or whjat to do in the situations when i come across the red tables in the graph? HELP

cant see that too well, but check out cygnusx1 thread on PP (2nd Gen) about this. He has done homework for you.

You cannot use the PH3 rom with OBD1!

Are you using crome pro?

If you do I can give you the map that I'm currently running. It has been dynotuned for my engine but still needs a little work in the low rpm area and has a little cold idle issues. My wideband is currently broken so I havent been able to get the map perfect.

Im using the free portion right now since im still figureing it out. But crome yes. I knew I couldnt use the PH3 basemap but i thought I could steal some of the info for the OBD1 ecu and get it to smooth the rest of the map for a decent map. When I realized what i was looking at all I can say is HUH? Do I need pro to use your map? Cant I just download your map as a .bin file and load it onto my chip? I do plan on having it street or dyno tuned anyways with a shop just to be sure its as good as it can get. Id hate to find out my motor is blowing itself to pieces little at a time and it was preventable for a cheap fix.

Another dumb question, I know to datalog you need an ostrich, cable (hulog) and an emulator chip? What I dont know is if you just want to load a file on the chip from the laptop out of the car or otherwise do you just need the cable? Also if I reopen my ecu how can I tell what chip is in it? Its been like 4 years since i had it chipped and the cable installed and I cannot remember for the life of me what i actually did. thanks you guys are the best
