ECU identification

I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX. The ECU went bad on it and I replaced it with another ECU with the same number which is 37820-p2e-c92. It works fine now, but I read somewhere that the p2e is for the Honda Civic DX and p2p is for the EX. I would like to know if this is true and also would I get less HP from a p2e than a p2p? Thank you in advance.

Not sure what ECU goes to what car, but an ECU meant for a Y7 running your Y8 means your VTEC won't work. Take your car for a spin and see if it works or not
