One was for the Legend, one was for the Integra. They did say "Honda Legend" and "Honda Integra" in the commercials. I don't know what "Clio" and "Verno" meant but I'm about to go look it up.

Edit:
So Clio and Verno were seperate Honda dealer networks. There was also a third network called "Primo." Cars available in one network were not necessarily available in another. From my understanding, it sounds like Verno was Honda's general network, while Clio and Primo handled large and small cars, respectively.

They probably put weights on the right side of the tire so that gravity would make it roll right and up.

Yes they decided to separate the Japanese dealership network to generate more sales. In 1978 Verno and in 1985 Clio and Primo if I remember correctly.
Around that time these are the cars they were selling and you couldn't buy Accord from other than Primo.

Verno - Vigor (accord's sister), Lude, CR-X, Ballade, Quint/Integra, NSX
Primo - Legend, Accord, city (or Jazz), Concert (European civic 4dr saloon)
Clio - Civic, Today (small car), Beat, Ascot(can't remember may be civic saloon)

But in 2006 they decided to stop this and they all are all called 'Honda Cars' in Japan

About cog commercial, I like it very much. Only one thing regrettable is that it is too similar to this art project led by super star German artists duo in 80's.
