Looking good. It's the little details that really make a car look good! Keep up the good work!

yeah, I like the 86-87 grille better than the 88-89 because I think it fits better. ...but as Mike said, IMO, i would swap out the grille with an 88-89, or swap the eyelids and corners to an 86-87 style.

...but even if you do nothing, it looks way better now with nothing cracked.

what the diffrence between the 87 and 89? The grill ends i took off look exactly like the ones i put on so does that mean it already had 86-97 grill ends on it?

yeah whoever had the car before you musta put a 86-87 style grill on, i dont have a good pic of a 88-89 one but mostly the end peices match the eye lid covers on your headlights... new parts still look good though

yeah im haveing a hard time finding good pics but the 88-89 grill has those lines and alot less "chrome" around the opening also the 88-89 ones the ends cant be swaped or removed so if you had an 88-89 grill that was cracking youd have to replace the entire thing

why do you say you doubt you'll have it much longer?

Yeah, your eyelids and corners are correct for your '89. The grille is an 86-87, as it has the removable endcaps, and has the checkered pattern. The 88-89 is a one-piece design (except for an add-on chrome or black rubber strip on the upper part of it), and has the striped pattern to match the lids and corners.

Ok, after about an hour of searching the board, I found a decent pic of the 88-89 grille. (Borrowed pic from Messy.)
