vacuum hose # 18

what does it do? my car started idling erratic and wanted to stall out on me...i found that 18 was unhooked from the intake..just wondering what it doe..don't have time to drive and let the car warm up and see if it'll do it again yet...thanks for any help

It may not even matter what it does. Having an unplugged vacuum port will cause problems by itself, regardless of what's on the other end of the hose.
