Well..nothing out of the ordinary happened to it that I think would have screwed up something really bad...but it's possible. When I drop below around 15 mph, the car is HARD to steer...like the wheels don't want to turn at all...any solutions?

car is a 1989 Accord LX-i by the way...thanks for the input

Not exactly true, I had my p/s off my old hatch for a few days when I was replacing the pump and driving it was a huge pain in the ass. Maybe its cause Im so scrawny? haha.

Good way to build upper body mass though.

Ok...so I got some power steering fluid and waited for the engine to cool down to put it in. I put it in, fill it up between the lines..and take it for a 10 mile spin around town to see how it works. Well, I immediately notice that it made a HUGE difference, and that was obviously the problem...so I get back home, and pop the hood to make sure there are no leaks...well the fluid level has worked it's way back down below the line a pretty good bit. Are these tell-tale signs of a leak, or was it reeeally low and some was kept in the system?

My guess is there is a leak it just hasn't showed it self yet. You want to use Honda powersteering fluid or equivilent made for Honda systems.

put in more fluid, get in the car, turn the wheel back and forth about 20x, recheck the fluid
only fill to the full line or it'll come out the top when your turning the wheel around
You getting any drip spots? bottom of the p/s pump wet?

Nope...don't see anything leaking like that
