Well just missed blowing my car up. By somewhat chance I had hooked up my Innovate wideband doing some full throttle pulls etc and damn if my car didn't peg the temp guage. By luck my wideband was reading way rich and I just did a guage check and it was pegged. I think I saved it with a quick cool down, running the heat and both fans and starting it every 2 mins to pull the temp down.

As you can see from the pic it split the place where the rod is crimped on. It must have jammed at high RPM's. Its gonna be a bitch to fix. Those bolts I had put in like 10 years ago last I did a T stat. The old ones I had to drill out and retap it the next size standard size.

Im gonna need a new housing I would guess any one have any ideas.

Just try and get those bolts out. If not then just get a new housing, thats what I had to do.

Sorry to see that Old Blue. You're not alone in having that housing crap out. I had to replace mine. It's easy enough. Just takes some time to feed your 12mm box end wrench back there. Good luck getting it fixed.

I don't run a t-stat in the summer. In fact, I had to drill out a bolt that broke off & just put a bolt all the way through with a nut on the other side. I doubt I'll ever put a t-stat back in with the trouble it's worth. It's not like my car is fuel injected.....
