hey guys i was wondering if anyone knows much about the turbos that came in the old subaru XT coupes, found one at the junkyard with low miles, turbo has no shaft play, everything looks clean on the car except it was rear ended, i cant seem to find much info on it all i know is i will need to pull the downpipe with it and re-use the flange, any info would be great if its a semi good basic turbo i most likely will pick it up asap

Probably a tinyass turbo. I wouldn't even bother.

Get something that you can get standard flanges/manifolds/downpipes for.

i was only looking for a build around 6-7 psi but from what i see this thing will be maxxing at that? aight not worth it, now i can throw a turbo build onto the back burner again

6 psi is worthless, go for like 9psi. At 9psi i bet that turbo is maxxed out, its just really small but will spool instantly. Id reccomend a .42/.48 off an old saab 900 turbo, or a .60/.48 out of an old Thunderbird Turbo coupe (early models, late models had ihi rhb5s, but in different trim than the scooby turbo). Ive seen IHI rhb5s installed on bikes and in one case, an LS/Vtec setup with TWIN RHB5s, and it still spooled super fast, and he made good power.
