stereo reseting after i turn off the car help

ok guys i jus got done installing my dual car stereo and works fine but whenever i turn off the car the stereo just resests its self and doesnt keep any data stored wat do u guys think is the problem and if u must know its a dual xdm6825 cd receiver/media player and my cars an 87 lxi

sounds like you got the batt power and ignition power lines backward swap your red and yellow wires
